It's been posted here before I just can't remember the title. It's a black and white movie about street racing. The main car is a '55 Chevy that races an earlier Chevy '54 maybe? gasser type car with a front end that bounces, and the guy who owns it and sets up the street races has a custom Buick and maybe owns a custom car building shop.
Brian Donlevy must have been down on his luck at the end of his career to make this, but that really doesn't matter because it looks interesting.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pit_Stop_(1969_film) This was Brian Donlevy’s last film, he died on April 6, 1972 at 71 years old.
that put the b back in b movie .those were the days !! when i was a kid my neighbors had a old hardtop he raced.seems like it was a 40 something chevy coupe . beat the dents out every week and back at it .
I wouldn’t say he was down on his luck he had a long active career, he may have been interested in the subject matter and maybe he wanted something to do besides lay around. Take a look at his career credits he did a little bit of everything.
we watched it last night...Uneven acting, moody film noir effect , the psycho race driver Hawk was fun...Lots of low budget action, some romance ...Actually better than the way over rated Two Lane Black top boring ass movie
