Does anybody recognize this car? Looks like it could be something you could actually drive down the track today. Drag week really has me wanting to build a roadster to go drag racing. (Don't want to cut mine up though)

Is the image reversed? Cowl steering on the right side?

Not real sure. I found the picture online somewhere and was kind hoping someone here knew something about the car. Mainly is that type of cage / car legal for the drag strip.

It should be. The easiest way is to get the latest NHRA rule book. Honestly, the tech guys look at my cage in the Fly for about 2.8 seconds. Cage…check. It also depends on how fast you plan on going. That’s a pretty modern cage.

That car may have been a circle track pavement car in the past. Pavement cars usually have right side steering for more rigidity due to the higher side forces.
All 4 of those cars have fairly recent Bonneville type cages.

I originally wanted to a bolt in type Bonneville cage to make it removable when not drag racing but the NHRA guy said it had to be welded to the frame. Wasn't going to do that to my current car. As far as how fast, I know that is a can of worms so i figured just go with the max cage incase it goes faster than 11's.

Yeah, I have always wondered about that. You can go 200 mph on the salt, but you have to have a welded cage if you go 125 on the 1/4 mile track.
