I have been following, but some how missed this older post. I have one of those Victor cabinets also. I'm going to guess you darkened yours up, mine is the usual tan tweed color. I am not going to do a built in amp (I think), but rather just make it a 12" cabinet for small tube amps. Been using a Hughes and Kettner Tubemeister 18 amp head for a while now.

The Victor is very dark cause it was painted black at some military base long ago. I used paint stripper to get it off. It would come almost all off easy on the first application. But when I did a second to get it better it started softening and pulling off the original lacquer. Then it stained up the tweed trying to clean it up and get it all off. I was disappointed that I couldn’t save it better because I really do love the original tweed colors. I began to embrace its tired road beaten look after I re-lacquered it. I tinted it some which made it a little darken but it blended better the contrast between the darker stained up areas vs. the lighter spots.
It is supposed to be my bluesy troubadour singer songwriter amp. I started to build it to play with my 55 Harmony/Kay hollow body. If I ever add the pickup I got for her.
What does this have to do with traditional hot rods? Everything! My guitars and amps are period correct accessories for my projects. They will often be lugged around in my hot rods someday to be used for playing my favorite malt shop oldies and make @dumprat mad, ha!

...I think I dream about this build because it pushes all the right buttons...This is an older vision I did given some subtle additions and mods to further challenge realities not yet realized...I really like the Tri Fecta of images like time lapses meeting at the same time...The Hub of The Hubba's...Cheers Mate!!

I hope it brings a warm smile...;)

    AL RACE DAY 1946.jpg

...I have been searching for historical connections to the period your building to in inspiration and this put a smile on my face...It was Al's last year on terra firma as unfortunately he died as a result of a terrible crash at the track, while these are shorter and more than likely flames as opposed to a licks of dust is is very reminiscent of what I've been pulling...

This is the only shot I've found...it's small but it is perhaps one of the motivators of the Berardini licks...

Yeah, on a off topic project that may help jumpstart work on the bad menace.
I gave my self a bad concussion and five facial fractures four weeks ago that put a real damper on everything around here. This is my seventh at least and it’s been really hard to bounce back from. In layman terms, I’ve been noticeably stupider, see what I mean? That’s not even a word.
I am however pumped to be purchasing a friends Tig welder. This will let me complete my intake for the blower and address the stainless fancy header project. I’ll probably sand out the welds though cause they may look suspicious for a 46 build. I want them all blued.
I got some old chrome early ball ends yesterday from Big Duece for the pitman to spindle link. I may be selling them to another HAMB member cause they are a touch too rough the Hubster.

Quote of the day: “oh... I see what all the hubbub is about”

    Here’s two of the four

I found this in search and thought of the Hubba...not sure of the year but could be early 50s possibly earlier...the car in the top right corner being the only clue to a later 40s early 50s period...

Hoping with the others you're continuing a return to feeling better Shine...
