I think you're doing well looking at Dynabrade. I have the silver version of a 3" sander and it's the nicest DA I've ever used. Smooth and quiet.

I've tried quite a few different DAs in the last 20 years but the only brand I've bought is Dynabrade. Excellent quality and feel working them. I use the 6" in all three orbits, the oldest one is 20 years old it has been worked hard and is still working without problems.

the 6 inch is the easiest to get paper for,the 5 inch paper is a little harder to find?.Might matter if your jobber doesnt carry it all the time.Get a good pad for it,the cheap ones will break when you need them the most:mad:. Sticky or velcro paper,it doesnt really matter,i normally use them up pretty good, cant really re-use the velcro ones, its not an issue for me.

It looks like there is a weight difference between the 3 different models.
The 6" black bodied one, which is the Dynorbital Supreme is around 2.1 - 2.3 lbs
The 6" green bodied one, the Dynorbital Spirit is around 1.6 lbs
The 6" silver bodied one, the Dynorbital Silver Supreme is around 2 lbs

Other than the weight difference I can't really tell what is better.

Anyone know the difference between the ergonomic shaped X series Dynabrade and the traditional style ones, like the Dynorbital series?
