wow, that writing through the center of all the photos is really anoying. If you think people are going to steal the photos and make a bunch of money why even post them?
Kool pics, I hear ya on the K1000, still got mine but haven't used it in an age, need to shoot some film again, my digital isnt in the same league (a flash one would be I'm sure).
Yep - like an alien planet where all the natives do is race. When I was there in '98 I didn't even think about the real world when I was on the salt. Too cool!
I noticed too, it's really annoying. Screws up otherwise really good pics. I understand wanting to protect your interest, but it's messing up the presentation of the pics themselves.
I noticed right away also, but didn't say anything about it being really annoying. They are nice pics though.
There's writing? I pretty much focused on the main point of the pictures....the cars and the salt. Thanks Hot Rod Girl....cool pics! One of these years I'm gonna try to make it out there.
parking a car behind your writing is fucking stupid. You are not ansel adams, your photos are worth nothing more than our free enjoyment and you took all that out of it buy copywriting the shit out of it. Why post them at all? On top of that, they are too small to steal. dont take yourself so serious. They are old cars on salt.
Good grief,Charlie Brown. The photos are cool, thanks. If you don't like the writing either go take your own, don't look at the pictures or just shut up.
Thanks man! I just wanted to share my work thanks for looking and not bitch'n. Perhaps those who object should start their own Thread "To write or not to write"
Writing or not, that tudor with the kidney bean Halibrands is IT for me! Anybody got info on that car????????? PLEEEZE!
The reason for the writing? I was lucky enough to be invited on a private photo shoot with Peter Vincent a well known accomplished automotive photographer while attending Bonneville this year . During this shoot these are the photos I took. So out of respect for Peter I decided it was important to post my name over the photos that I took so that similar photos would not confused. Although anyone who knows Peters work could tell the difference right away I did not want to leave any room for confusion.
Maybe try labeling the bottom of the photo, not across the image(I always hate when I see that). Everybody wins. Thanks for posting.
Maybe you should check with Mr Vincent. I know lots of photographers don't like to see their work or shots of their work before they hit print. Clark
Is there a tudor with kidney beans in there somewhar? I see a more-door tub with Hal sprints. At any rate, I'd like to see more of this one. Any more? Hmmmm?
Why write across the middle? Because assholes WILL take them and use them as thier own. Nothing worse than seeing a photograph that you have taken and see it in print or used for advertising anywhere else. (Clark-Remember the Atari thing?) Leave the writing in the corner and people just crop it out. Photographers must protect themselves if they ever want to make any money from thier art. Nobody understands anymore because digital has made everyone a photographer. Want better pics? Take them your God damn self. I still use my K-1000 I bought in '79. Saved up my grass cutting money to buy it. Still break it out every now and again. Anyway, nice shots. I need to go to Bonneville. Spike
They are old cars on salt.[/quote] Stupid? If all you can see is old cars on salt you may need to take your Nomad and affiliate with a Tri-5 forum. "Any man who truly owns a 1932 Ford can spell DEUCE!"
