Anybody racing? Spectating? Home - thompson-raceway-park (thompsonracewaypark.com) I'll be there Saturday. Hope to see some of you.
Welp, it seems I have absolutely nothing to do in my hotel room Saturday. It shows to be an hour from where I am staying. I was just wondering how I would entertain myself for 2 days. I'll be the slightly balding, middle aged, fat guy in the hot rod shirt with the sunburned forehead.
Is Jim Curtis still the manager at Thompson? Jim is running a business but he is also a great friend to the racer.
Hey @Don Moyer , will you be racing your Willys? I'll be the white haired, middle aged guy in the hot rod shirt with the sunburned forehead. Don't know. I was last there in 1985, racing an '81 Honda CB750F Super Sport.
Pretty weak turnout. I went to Don Moyers Gasser race and it was like a well oiled machine. This one, not so much. Lots of non gasser cars and late model bracket cars. A few good ones though.
Yes, thanks for the picks. I grew up not far from there and the guy across the street ran a 33 Willy's back in the 70's so Thompson will always be my favorite track.
Notice the Edsel is towing a trailer I really liked the blue & white (Hillman?) panel. 87" WB. He clicked off consistent 11.0's and made it to the final round.
It was cool finally getting to meet @Just Gary. Spent the afternoon hanging out and bench racing. Good dude. Suggest you all meet him.
Jim was running the show - and doing the roving announcing at the Spring Gasser Reunion, so I imagine he was there. Alas, I had to miss it.
Thank you for the pictures, I see some familiar cars being fairly local. I wanted to go, but as usual my transporting schedule kept me away. I have a 57 Pontiac that I want to make into a Gasser since I have never done one before. Was hoping to go to get some ideas, but realistically it won't get built this winter anyway as I have others inline before it.
