Alright, this should be a short list, but who has some cool, old shift boots from way back when? Hurst....Cal Customs...Badger, maybe? What have you?

    Let's see 'em!

I happened on this boot on the closeout table at my local speed shop, didn't have a need for it at the time but for $10 I figured I would some day. I don't think it is terribly old but I've never seen another one like it.
The shifter in my roadster has quite a bit of offset and nothing else would work so I guess it was a good idea to grab it.

@DDDenny that thing is pretty neat. I bet a lot of people will comment on it when they see it in the car, finished.

    Hello,

My brother and I were installing the aluminum floor sheets to finish up the open cockpit floor. When we got to the LaSalle shifter with the stock long lever, it was cool for a street cruiser to have the stock long lever. But, it just did not feel right shifting the gears. So, before we put in the final aluminum sheet, we made a cardboard cover and made the shift lever pop up. The smooth round top of the base was just sticking out of the hole.

The seats were already in place, so the final adjustments were to sit and pretend we were shifting at the drag races. It felt fine for both of us and the seats were now permanently mounted, the aluminum floor board was finally screwed in and the LaSalle shifter boot had the stock round part, sticking out of the cut to fit hole.

Most stock LaSalle transmissions had a very long lever with a cool ball on the end. My flathead powered 40 Ford Sedan Delivery had a long floor lever that came up quite high. Fast shifting was not the mode of the day, so the long lever was rather cool. The lever looked cool for most hot rod applications, but for our Willys seating and driver comfort, it was too long. We cut the original long rod and fit the black ball on the new tapped end.

We shortened the long stock shifter lever. It looked good, and we both felt secure in the driver’s seat. The floor board, the shorter shifter lever all made it a custom fit for the two teenage brothers.

Shifting on the street was a little hectic with two people in the cab. The passenger had to work around the Moon Aluminum Tank and Pump Handle. So, the adjustments of putting the big size 11 feet had to go somewhere. At the drags, the same feet fit right into the Moon Aluminum Foot Pedal with the strap taken off. It was a form fit set up and both of us could sit and drive comfortably. YRMV

DDDenny's shift boot is just what I need. However, I know my chances of finding one are slim.

Thinking back, I wanna say it was a Mr Gasket item, some time ago I tried looking on the internet about it but had no luck finding any mention of it.
The flat rubber flange part of the boot was somewhat bigger and by my memory the trim plate was a big square thing that got pitched, I trimmed the rubber down and whittled the ring out of a piece of aluminum.
I will say that the rubber is fairly thick and stiff compared to the soft, flexible Hurst boots I have owned.

    Here's one I made for a friends '51 Chevy Shifter boot.jpg 20201228_230733.jpg

And don't overlook what you might be able to make with a CV joint boot.

Waaaay back I originally looked into the reproduction AC Cobra shift boot because they had such odd offset shifter/boot configurations..............then I saw the prices, I guess, as with anything it goes with the territory.
I didn't check prices again because I'm not in the market but here are two Google Image searches I just did and if you spend a little time scrolling through these offerings you may find a boot that works for your individual needs, pay attention to the ones from Dorman as many are generic and reasonably priced.
