Here's a quick video showing the gauge lights, along with how the turn signal indicators work:

Cory, Look forward to your updates on this incredible build. Hope you make it to the West coast so I can see it in person. Will Sid install the interior? If not I'm sure you'll have it done by someone of equal talent. Thanks for the video. Ron

I'm sure I'll make it out there eventually! I plan to have Brian Willingham do the interior. He and Sid happen to be friends as well!

I was hoping to set the toe and install the draglink tonight, but my floor jack decided to give up the ghost. I guess I'll go find one in town tomorrow!

Instead, I diverted my attention tonight to work on the O/T EFI tuning tonight. I locked down the distributor where it needed to be, then played around with some of the idle controls. The other good news is that both the cooling and charging system are doing plenty well with the static air in the garage!

    That sounds MEAN!

PS - Love the turn signal lights. Difficult to drive too far with those on (like so many hot rodders seem to do - HA).

It sounds pretty mean! I can't wait to get it outside to hear the sound without it echoing in the garage.

Big day today - made the first drive! Surprisingly, the car is great out of the box too. I've got to diagnose a metallic squeak in the front of the car, but I suspect it may be the hood latch rod rubbing against the striker pad on the cowl. More reasons you can tell why Ford only used that hood latch system for one year!

I'll put some grease on the face of the striker and see if it goes away.....

Sounds like a Hot Rod should. I can't get over how quick that RPMs when you blip the throttle. :)

It's gonna be hard putting fenders on that little car, especially when you can drive it around and have fun just like it is.

It’s tempting, but I need something to hang my lights on so I can venture further away from home!

I got the fenders and running boards on this week, and continued forward with buttoning up the fender braces and headlights. I had picked up a pair of Rick Bales' brass tags to replace my poor quality original tags on my 682 buckets.

I also spent some time tracking some Cibie H4 headlights to use in the Guide buckets. Cibies are the best damn headlight you can buy, but unfortunately, they're no longer made. What's left for sale is the end of production, which were barely meeting their lighting standards. I found a nice pair for sale locally, date coded 2000, so I know they're good! I also added "city lights" to them, repurposed as daytime running lights via an amber BA9 LED bulb.

My hood caddy was forcing the hoodside to contact the cowl when raised. Short of making some really long arms, I decided a bumper might be better to keep everything tucked in nice when raise. I designed up a simple bumper in CAD to fit the cowl, then had some 3D printed in a TPU material which is rubber like. Now, both the hoodside and cowl are protected from chipping.

I've been venturing farther and farther away from home, so of course I grabbed some shots in a different environment!

  22. I'm not sure how you could make this car any cooler. It's rare I see I car I wouldn't change. Truly a timeless build. We'll be talking about this car 25 years from now. The bar has been raised.

The car is superb with the fenders. Maybe pick up a pair of chrome headlight rings to give a try.

I remember about 45 years ago my Dad's '33 tudor had some small chunks of rubber on the cowl edge to set the hood sides on. His were the cutoffs of the door check straps, rather than 3D printed.

After waiting for nearly 5 weeks, I got my seat foam for the car. I had been driving around with the bottom out of my '32, and some couch pillows for the back! With the seat foam roughed in, I built a new shift lever using an early Ford lever.

Other than that, I shaved the tires and got them balanced the other day. I hopped on the highway tonight to see how the car would run, and was pleasantly surprised by the effortless drive. Overall, the car rides very nice, brakes incredible, and the engine has great power delivery.

Nice to see the little car getting some miles in the sunshine. One of the best HAMB builds ever.
