Been searching all over for info regarding this frame. It’s from speedway, it’s the 32 frame that’s built for a 27 roadster. Just curious if anybody has any experience with it or heard anything about it.
SPEEDWAY’S 27’ FRAME WITH 32’ RAILS I thought you were thinking about a real big replica -- 27-foot frame with 32-foot rails.
I know it looks fine the way it is, but every time I see a 27 on 32 rails I wish I did the same. I have to pull the body off to mess with some linkage and the gear vendors, so I wanted to swap out the frame and stop wishing
I know I’d have to swap the motor mounts, it comes with a th350 mount, which would work with my S T-10
Do you have a Speedway part # for that? I'm considering a new build. It looks like a good start (with mods).
here ya go. I think they’re about 1,000 cheaper on eBay, through speedways ebay store. https://www.speedwaymotors.com/27-H...X_2QPe0hryJcOAvyNB1pKM1tfEtKBHvwaAjP-EALw_wcB
3 grand is a ton of change for something that can be built with a couple hundred in tubing and a crossmember. Below is @SamIyam thread, I did similar with 5" tubing for my Tudor https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/building-a-32-style-frame-for-the-rafter-project.305273/
For some reason I did not document mine but it really is a simple way to fab a 32 style frame. Sam did a good job with his thread! I shaped my reveal with some c clamps and a cross peen hammer
From the pics it looks like this frame doesn't have the "beauty line" like most tubing fabbed frames. Not a bad price for what it is. Haven't seen one yet but about the same money as a frame fabbed up with ASC rails or the like. One of the most perfect lines around is a '27 on deuce rails.
Just buy some JW Rod Garage 32 rails and maybe their “A”front crossmember, then fab the rest! Visually position the 32 rails to best fit the bottom sides of the body, and let it rip.
