... @jnaki one other phenomenon of shadows is how they cast with incredible detail and crispness regardless of speed constantly adjusting with angle to the sun...

This was a recent shot Downunder actually and based on High noon it must have been 2 or 3 hours past...

    Hello,

The Spring time sun creates a smooth curvy line from the cool 1934 Ford Coupe sitting in the 11:30 am photo. It was/is a So Cal hot rod in all of its glory, next to another cruiser. Getting some work done for more Spring time cruising. The smooth, curvy fender patterns always look better than the open fender-less look and the rounded shadows pop into view during a nice sunny day.

My old, digital camera at approximately, 40 ft. away still had some focus quality. Memories about my friend’s black 1934 Ford 5 Window Coupe from the 1958-60 era in Long Beach came popping up, as I took some quick photos from a distance. Sometimes, it pays off to drive with my wife doing some errands, while catching some cool looking hot rods resting in the warm So Cal sun.

    Hello,

Leave it up to a custom muffler service to have built the nicest looking, functional header system for any hot rod or drag car. The smooth flow of the bends from the Ardun motor, the tucked under design, would look good on a street hot rod or as built, a drag racing roadster.

In 1959, my brother and I made the long 2 hour drive to Riverside Raceway in So Cal, to see one of the top drag race meets in those early days. All of the biggest names in drag racing from the East, Southwest, Midwest and Pacific Northwest came to Riverside to challenge the West Coast racers in their home grounds.

As early risers, we arrived just in time to roll through the gates when it opened. The Scotty’s Muffler Service, White Ardun powered roadster was sitting in the pits just waiting for someone to take some photos or films. It was not just Ardun powered, but had a centrifugal supercharger making more power than just carbs or injection. The sound from those custom made individual header pipes was music to our ears.

It was the most unusual shadow given by those headers as they found their way to the rear of the roadster. Someone would call the custom individual header pipes a “masterpiece on display.”

The time of day was pretty close to 12 noon, when we got back to filming the modified roadster.
