History 1955 gmc suburban 1st series

I have a totally original 1955 gmc suburban 1st series, 270 6yl w a factory hydromatic trans.......100% complete. I am trying to find any information on them or pics but having no luck, if anyone has any info i would greatly appreciate it. Thank you

 

If it has a 270 engine, more than likely it's a replacement. The hydro has a serial number that will match the factory 248'' engine #, so check it ... the more options your truck had, the more unusual & unique. DeLuxe cab, E-Z-Eye glass, radio, clock, electric wipers, turn signals are often seen.

Best sources of info posted. I have a 55.1 suburban factory hydramatic also. Unfortunately the original drivetrain is long gone. What exactly are you wanting for info?

I have a 55 first series pu I am not having much luck finding info about hydro trans and parts that are just for the 1 st series 55. would like to talk to some one that has info. Thanks Please p/m me Don
