A couple of months ago I posted in the Wanted section that I wanted to be a Caretaker of a traditional Kustom, preferably with some history and in the 50’s, similar to the Duane Steck’s MoonGlow which was built and Crushed after a few short years of a young man’s dream. Duane’s car apparently left an impression on me and many others of my age group, (read Geezer’s). Then tragedy struck...my 51 Merc got totaled in a crash, 7FBC747F-74AF-4EE9-94CD-FA34C53A842E.jpeg 024DFB6A-18B6-46AA-B8FC-253A8FAED837.jpeg A6BD043F-B6B2-4BEB-A7B0-B06A4DE94C92.jpeg A6BD043F-B6B2-4BEB-A7B0-B06A4DE94C92.jpeg as I was on my way to Indy for CCR 21, all set in motion by an out of control, hydroplaning young lady in a later model grocery getter. Fortunately we both escaped death. But all of that got me to the point where search for a replacement was at the top of my list. Can’t get these cars out of my mind. I’m addicted.

Jeeze, that's a beauty and it's yours? I'm thinking yes...I'd understand caretaking that...you really went high on the bar...Congratulations...;)...AND I'm glad you pulled through the accident...they are really devastating incidents no matter the outcome...

Good find. I saw it in Indy`s CCR a few years ago. It`s been there twice. That year he took it out of the trailer. The weather was better.

That is flat pretty. You have to love those 54 hardtops that are done right. That one especially.

    Stunning!
I think too many customs suffer from being overdone - like the builder didn’t know when to stop. But that Chevy is a beautiful juxtaposition of radical and restraint. Truly timeless.

@chopolds, it’s Bill’s car, as a Caretaker, it will always be known as Bill’s Car. Built in the mid 80’s, has survived the test of time. @stanlow69, I knew you would know it. And we’ll talk kustom’s @ CCR 22’. I’m looking forward to it, Jim. @Elcohaulic, yes she’s back in Pa. As I fade into the future, I’ve got my Son, to become the Caretaker, and to keep it true to it’s history and the original Built. Thank you guys for the positive comments. I am not a Chevy guy. '53-'54 Chevys are at the bottom of the list for me. However, that is really a beautiful car! I love everything about it! It very much deserves a proud caretaker. Enjoy!

I don’t think there is a bad angle to shoot a 38 Chevy posted in your Avatar @Dan Hay. That’s Sweet!
