I've seen Carl's rig many times at Eagle Field. Doesn't get much more traditional than that!

So very true. I had to update my drums to discs to feel comfortable. Now all I'm missing is power steering and power brakes. And big mirrors.

I used my 48 Ford , 302 , C4 , 9 in 3.25 gears to tow all the time .Sold it bought the OT Power Wagon , Forrest Service Truck . It’s a short wheel base utiline , 3/4 ton , Cummins powered , 5 speed , np205 case , both Dana60 axles have LSD , I dare say it will travel anywhere on this planet , loaded as heavy as you feel you need to load it , look at you and ask for more anytime any weather . It’s a noisy , buck board riding Bastard , but it’s fun .

I daily-drive my '62 GM Holden sedan. 138ci of 40's era I6 grunt, three-on-the-tree, four wheel drums. It tows the box trailer regularly with a full load of camping gear and four kids at freeway speed. Tows the car trailer quite happily for various projects (this was when my avatar came home from paint and panel, stop/start in Sydney peak-hour traffic).

They were made for this. You just drive them appropriately.
