Well this put paid to anybodies worrys about a driveline that is offset to one side or the other. If it doesn't break when using a supercharged, nitro burning, 427 I bet they work just fine on your builds. From the video
1964 Nationals. Standing just behind the starting line on the tower side. I can still see that Comet coming by us and leaving the line. To saw it was awesome is an understatement.
At '64 Indy I was mid-track in the bleachers watching the comet. It was Awesome to Infinity and Beyond!
From the Winternationals . Also, the 67 body was hauled from west coast to east, by Tom Willford and delivered to Jim. Tom was a member here, passed in 2013, and raced the Ron Bizio Truck.
I remember seeing this shot in magazines as a kid, can't put my finger on it but for some reason it still catches my attention, I guess it is the simplest form of reliving my youth.
Obviously I am fond of Comets especially ‘64’s. Here is a photo that Jack sent me in 1976, it now hangs in a prominent place in my shop.
Great story on a very historic car. One thing I really like about this car is the stance. A little high in the front with the rear tires moved in then trimmed in the front slightly without fully radiused wheel openings. That way it really keeps the nice flowing lines of the Comet.
I think I mentioned this before. I sent my Ford nine inch N case to Jack about 1976/77 for some machining. His history of being one of the first (real) Funny Car drivers was gleaned from all my years with my nose in car magazines but it was a recommendation from a racing pal that sealed it for me.
