It’s an Ornermotive injector, it used a SBC Rochester injection base with their own runners and hat. The idea was to use manifold vacuum to control the air/fuel ratio instead of the more simple barrel valve used on other mechanical race injectors.
The Orner used a diaphragm (very similar to a Holley secondary diaphragm) in the canister to “sense” fuel demands. The idea never caught on and barrel valves remain to this day on mechanical systems.

I commented on this photo when it was posted some time ago, possibly on the induction thread and said I had never seen one of these covers before, curious if it was a one-off deal.

Wilkins brothers "Valley Home Service" drive train disintegration in the San Fernando lights. The flywheel landed on the roof of a nearby church, and the pastor then went to the track and demanded that the races stop. Harry Hibler offered free tickets to the congregation, but no acceptance. The driver survived the blast, but hard to imagine no injuries.
Lineup at Lions: Ed Pink's Old Master, then the Vagabond, with Gary Ormsby driving, then Garlits, Bobby Langley, and Dusty Rhodes in the green car.

  18. That was dad's thing, he ran the 8V as early as 1965, here with the Comp dragster...also one on Ingenue too, in '67.

  19. Yes, I'm aware, I have one that will be whittled to match the original.

This was done in 1967, so not only was the flange milled off as well as the fins and Hilborn name, they also whittled some additional weight off the bottom, polished it up then sent it out to the chromers...which meant they had to fiddle with the butterflies, because they no longer fit, lol!
