Your thoughts are entirely plausible in this Journey...It is Art...Zazzle......or is it...Dazzle?...remember that Thread? I firmly believe Hotrod/Custom are in huge ways forms of Art...Art that Rumbles and can be pretty Snappy...

Congrats on the frame and other goodies...1947 in the Cross hairs...one step at a time...

Wow, great journey, I have much to catch up on, I subcribed way back but this thread didn't show up... I have 40 odd pages to read! Its a cool roadster, enjoy it for what it is, will you keep the banger running gear for another project down the track??

Time to start looking for another body. Two A roadsters are better than one. At this point you will have to murder the banger to build the A-v8. What will actually be transferred to the '32 frame? Great find by the way! Fun video too. You are a parts magnet! :D

I vote a 26/7 t roadster or an 28/9 A pickup takes up residence on the banger frame

I just relocated a pretty nice '28-29 tall cab pickup last week. Full fendered for the banger frame? SF parts runner.

Joey, don't cut up that original 32 wishbone. The 32 wishbone will work great on an Av8. If you want split wishbones, use something else and sell the uncut 32 to help finance your build.

   ...here...

    That is some incredible footage...
    Nostril filling action indeed...

I always wonder what the Ratio of Hottroders to Folks of other walks participated in these races?

I enjoyed the first segment and just watching those Racers they were ready to do Battle and yes it was good when it was good but when it was bad it was many times lethally bad...

It does seem a spliced series of videos...and yes those crashes are very difficult to watch...the safety in the industry evolved around Casualties many times...

There certainly were a few in that incredible footage and Joey's build is certainly in the era of the Roaring Roadsters...If I had an opportunity I'd love to rip around a track but preferably a paved one but for now I have numerous small towns with a mix of paved and dirt roads in every direction to work thru the rpm range with one heck of a smile on my face...

I've seen another video with a lot of those wrecks and the music is a song by AA Body "I killed Myself when I Was Young" fitting. I'm reading Dirt Track Auto Racing 1919-1941 by Don Radbruch. There are hundreds of pictures of old dirt track cars and drivers. So many of them were killed at the track. That was no safety equipment in the beginning. The book covers the whole country and it is a shame that so little was documented at the time. These guys and a few gals were tough!

I think the new gig has got him very busy. Which is fantastic! Because that means more content created by Joey getting out there and more money is his pocket for hotrod stuff ;)

that video update was great. Got me fired up to make some progress myself :)

  26. Really enjoyed the video!! Gave me the warm fuzzies inside watching your and Yama's excitement. The thrill of the hunt always keeps us motivated. You just never know what's out there waiting to be discovered.

Thanks for documenting so that we can enjoy the milestones with you!!
