Thats pretty amazing, just what you've been able to do to it by using some cleaning and buffing tricks. Looks great.

The door latch mechanisms were binding from a worn slider slot. I disassembled them and also noticed the pin on both was almost sheared in half from use. I made new pins and installed them and repaired the slider slots. Good as new!

Got the dash bodyworked and I sprayed it with some black lacquer. When the paint dried I added some patina with some rubbing compound applied with superfine steel wool and then rubbed clean with a course shop rag. Looks like old lacquer and matches the paint on the body now. Put my gauges in it this morning . Very happy without how came out. Lots of work in this

Nice Hotrod coming together...you have a way with the good ole days Jerry...restoring the vintage mechanicals is admirable too along with the use of numerous vintage rarities that look good on Hotrod and likely aided performance for the win back in 55...really enjoying the journey you're sharing with us...Seasons Greetings...;)

Hi. Great to catch up on this neat build. I had to do a very similar job on the slider pins on my 32 door latches. I look forward to more progress in the future. Mart.
