So My ‘41 Chevy sedan is SBC swapped, using stock pedals with THD chassis engineering MC for a mustang master cylinder. Messing with bleeding the brakes this weekend and found the brake pedal hits the motor / bell housing after only about 2” of travel. Is there a way to solve this without a firewall mounted pedal/master cylinders?
not very far. But i wasn’t sure how to make the pedal work on the inside without moving the floor opening. There isn’t a lot of space to the column.
I had the same problem back in 1965 on my '40 Chevy coupe. Back then, I got a huge crowbar and just pried the pedal over until it cleared the motor. Never had an issue with it. and drove it hard for 5yrs. after. Bob
So I might be crazy, but something acts like it shifted since it was in last time. Here is a pic from a while back. I never recall the pedal hitting. Ugh!
