Haven’t dreamed about those colors as much since high school, like I have with BLACK!

I'm red/green colorblind. If you asked what color many of the cars in this thread are I wouldn't have a clue.

Lots of cars came from the manufacturer in earth tones. So the color looks fine. Color is a personal preference thing. Some guys don't want a "look at me" color but still dig the hot rod part. To each there own.

But when it comes time to sell, two identical cars...one red, one beige, which will likely sell first?

    Hello,

Normally, the grey tones, however light aren’t part of the earth tones. So, what happens is that some artists and gallery folks have added grey color to the earth tone mix, but it really is a neutral color. We all see colors in different ways to meet our car, household, and artistic needs. But throw in some beige increments and a new grey color pops up to confuse all of us.

As good as photography can get, the above Ford Hot Rod Convertible could be considered grey. But in some light reflection angles, it looks like this combination of beige added to the grey for a custom color. From far away, it does look grey in the color scheme. Close up and with different sun angles, a custom earth tone color.

So, it is in the eye of the beholder to see what part of the color spectrum each color can fit. Don’t tell my wife, as she was the photographer that took these great photos. She liked the overall look and now, for her, if it was for sale, she would have bought it on the pre-pandemic spot. It would fit nicely in our small two car garage.

Of course, our earth tone discussion brings up another dilemma. She even keeps mentioning during the pandemic year(s) that she likes a very light grey Raptor truck for her dreams. But, only if we moved to Montana or Colorado. As the pandemic goes, Colorado is out... so, good luck with that… The pandemic has us locked down for a long spell.

yosemite.jpg Looks like an earth tone to me, maybe add some dark green rims on the gray '39. Bob
