  1. Just curious how many of us Hambers have had our car on an event T-Shirt. I was honered to get the "Best Hot Rod "award in 2011 and my car was on the T-shirt and all associated posters etc for 2012. Dats my 32 Old Crow T-Shirt.jpg

    McPhail did the art for the '07 HAMB Drags shirt with my little car and a chick that looks suspiciously similar to my darling wife.

    That would be my "Fat Rat", built and owned by Mike Wiley of Roanoke Rapids, NC at the time, in the middle.;)
    Big "Thank you!" to a fellow Hamber that sent me the shirt.;):):)
    I'd heard of the shirt but never seen one. Folks are the best! :)

    Mike also used the car on t shirts he sold at his shop.:)

    Just noticed the wheels!:eek::eek:
    Please forgive and moderators please feel free to remove his shop t shirt if too offensive. If it is any comfort to the more traditional thinking, the car was first built with narrowed chevy rally wheels on the front and widened chevy rally wheels on the back.;) Mike later sold those rallys and I missed buying them as somebody beat me to it! I would have loved to have those original wheels just to present a different look now and then.
    Picture the car with the full moons I've shown in other pictures of the car... actually, here it is:

  12. Wow Abone ,
    That is cool,,,,you build some great looking hot rods in my opinion,,,I’m very proud of you .

    However,,,,,after looking at the pic,,,,,I had an observation.
    How could any chic that looks that good,,,possibly be interested in a guy with a little old bony arm sticking out the window holding the sign ,,,,LoL !

    Just kidding,,,,you deserve all the accolades for your builds .

    I would have one of them in a minute,,,,,except for the Pontiac mills,,,LoL .

    Lol,,,,,I did get tickled when I read the letters on the tires,,,,,that was funny !

    Funny how times change,about things.
    Now I see a hint at something maybe coming back ;) ?
    Back in the late 1950s an on, into the 60's, at auto shows around Florida,I airbrushed custom* "Wild Car Shirts"
    Every shirt I did was a one off custom artwork,of a car the new shirt owner ask for,with added things ,I asked about an add in too car drawing{ like making the monster driving a kind of character of who is getting the shirt /being funny but not insulting}sometimes.
    There were often others selling Car shirts at same shows for less $< mostly preprinted an they just added some color an a name.
    But I was the only one doing original one off art { thought it was better vs preprinted mass made shirts}
    So in hindsite,those guys made way more total $ an lot more shirts,there I was doing one shirt,as they sold about a doz.
    As a teen art n car nut,I was not $$$ smart,but had a hell of a goodtime as "The Bat" out of hell!!
    Too old now to get away with doing a one off custom Wild Car T, take me more then an hour last time I did one for old buddy a few years back vs was about 10min.s back then..
    But some young guy or gal,may start doing / Your car drawn on a cool shirt!
    I'm getting close to 79 next month an some old age shakes kind of mess up a drawing now an then.
    How about it ,one of you young guys or gals,restart Custom Wild Car T's ?:cool::D

    Back in the 90's in Eugene,Or, Bob White held a gathering at his business, Graffiti Alley, that was connected to a city park, and an evening cruise in Junction City, a few miles down the road. They were very well attended. He chose my car for the Staff shirts, and the dash plaques. IMG_7553.JPG IMG_7555.JPG IMG_7554.JPG

  26. Back in the '70's there was a guy that called himself Giant (about 6'4 and 120 lbs) that hit the Ca rod runs. Pull your car up and he would airbrush an incredible rendition onto a T-shirt. Never quite figured out how he made the chrome look like chrome.

  30. I got tired of waiting around for someone to put my car on a shirt, so I made one. Art by "Slide" and it's also a tribute to my dad and grandpa who passed. away. IMG_2336.jpg
