Just an Inspiration of the Jet Age well underway in the
late 50s early 60s...

The Jet is Vtol created in 3D, a project I did with a historical twist to a Canadian Aerospace Legend and the Ole Hotrod has had aluminum Louvered hood, Sealed Beam upgrade and cycle style fenders added with scavengers added out the back with it running so well exhaust rings are perfectly uniform...

Even period wise in 1963 an Aerospace worker would have made enough dough to have this Hotrod in it's inspired self, so this moment in Milton Ontario may have been if Avro had survived in 1959 and went commercial...

As long as I can remember, my brother was a happy kid growing up in the Westside of Long Beach. He always had a group of friends from the neighborhood from elementary school on to high school. That was a tough bond to break. Even after his escapades of the Willys drag strip accident, his friends stuck by him to help in any way they could.

But, we will always remember a 15 year old teenager that had the most unusual request. He wanted to buy his own car. At age 15 no less. It was a thing for him as several of his teenage friends already had their cars, due to the fact that they were 16, but in the same grade in high school.

So, with his hard earned money from his afterschool job, he had already picked out his first car. He definitely surprised our parents with that request. He was too young to buy it himself, but our dad had to co-sign the contract. Up drives this cool yellow 1951 two door Oldsmobile sedan into our driveway. His smile just said it all…

Now, he had his first car and could go where and when during his teenage high school years. It was something that most teenagers plan on in high school. Of course, his friends already had some customizing trends going on their builds, spinner/flipper hubcaps, chrome side pipes with exhaust caps, chrome air cleaners, and of course, a lowered stance. Since I was two years younger, I was able to get all of the knowledge that they talked about during those afterschool and weekend gatherings at our house.

But, having owned the yellow 1951 Oldsmobile and all of its iterations, he knew he wanted to build his first hot rod and selected a Model A coupe. He had plans with a SBC motor and perhaps a centrifugal supercharger for added power. We actually purchased a non running Model A coupe and got it running. During this time, he was happy and was headed in the right direction.

Then his friend from the neighborhood needed a car and now, my brother looked into the future and saw something that would instantly get him to the winner’s circle at Lion’s Dragstrip. A new 280 hp 1958 Impala was in his future. So, he sold the Model A to one friend, and had the Yellow 51 Oldsmobile painted a Lime Green variation to sell to his good friend. It happened within several months and at the end of the changes, up drove this pristine black 58 Impala onto our driveway.

The Lime Green Oldsmobile paint was on for several months until the friend could finally save enough to follow up on his promise to purchase the 51 Oldsmobile.

"Dust & Smoke"
A traditional styled hot rod coupe leaves a cloud of dust & smoke as it travels along a rural country dirt road.
I created this illustration digiitally using Rebelle 4 (sketching & painting), Photoshop CC 2021 (contrast, color adjustment & resizing) & my Wacom Intuos 3 stylus & tablet.
