  2. Wish I could help you. About all I got of value these days is old information and most of the time it is of very little value.

Here are shots of my roadster (in mockup stage) taken many years ago basking in all of its rollout glory for the first time.

    DSCN1610.JPG DSCN1612.JPG DSCN1611.JPG

Wasn't long before it was disassembled to get the chassis powdercoated and misc. pieces nickel plated and put back together as a rolling chassis.

Well, at least the plating was done!
    As it sits now.

  6. After a winter season in the garage. New wheels/tires, turtle deck, polished stainless fuel tank, air cleaner, valve covers, headers, chrome alternator and bracket, all new wiring, guages and dash, new fuel pump, headlights and tail lights, new windshield and new upholstery.
Other than that, I didn't get much of anything done... 20210211_142350.jpg 729.jpeg

Some cool rods out in the sun!!!.
The Q hint's at,those that actually had a garage ! Well I now, do,,but back when I built my first hot rod,I had weeds out back to build in,and shaded if the right time of day PM by the next door neighbors garage next to my weed patch= was mostly in the sun anyway ! This pic is just after getting running for first time, running around block to get bugs out,an then fix as many probs as I could, take some back a part an paint shiny. Rod only looked this way temp, for about a week, shiny only on frame here, latter the body. Late1959.
    28ar.jpg
    Still have same rod.

First time in the sun but not in one piece yet. This is from the day I finished the construction and prep of the frame and I rolled it off the lift to put the body up in the air and prepare to fuse the two pieces.

This is Clarence last Thursday. Finally getting out of my shop and heading to the body man/painter. I'm hoping to have him back on the road next spring. This redo has taken almost 4 years so far. Next redo will be done by my heirs.

Oh don’t worry he keeps me on my toes. And if anyone’s curious his name is Hemi. And it was my wife’s idea.

Problem with my '39 was being exposed too much, for too long! So all that liquid sunshine for decades resulted in a lot of rusty metal!

After about 6-7 months it took to the sunshine better!

And after a couple years it does much better out in the sunshine now!

I had just lowered the body onto the chassis and wanted to be able to stand back a distance and see if I liked it or not.....

I moved it from my back shed to the footpath yesterday before towing it to my son's where it went back on rotisserie for trip to sandblaster to, underside and inside floor, next is final body prep and paint. Like everyone else, they've come a long way, yahoo!

Sunlight? As opposed to daylight? Once every 3 years in Seattle for a finished ride.

  30. Here’s me and my old hotrodA roadster in first mock-up from around 1978. I had more hair back then at 32 years old.
