My '34 Plymouth coupe, owned since 1974, self built and painted (except upholstery), lacquer paint was done in mid-80's, also by me. We've been cross country with it a couple of times and we are still rolling.

My buddy just bought this. It was sitting in a garage for the last 22 years. Featured in Street Rodder in September 1978. 20210424_095117.jpg IMG-0988.jpg

Age 15, I was gonna paint my channeled '30 Cabriolet (6" over Deuce rails) "real dark green".
My older buds heard about it, told me confidently: "Don't do it, you'll be painting a Hoodoo Wagon. And they're killers."
Hmmm...Cannonball Coy was killed on the North turn at Indy...and he was driving a green car...
    Guess they were right.
But I did buy a nice dark green '56 Ford Crown Vic a few years later, 'hoodoo' was right!
The Vic had a '53 Cad mill, 331" with a dual range hydro, 4.11 rear. Previous owner had dropped center link to clear the pan, weld broke, pretty Vic Hoodooed up the curb and through a fence!
-Reminded me of Cannonball and his death ride...hoodoo wagon...
Keep your green. Go hug some trees.

    Hello,

Prior to the pandemic, we thought about our road trips all over So Cal and beyond. My wife and I have loved driving ever since we have been together in 1966 on those long road trips up the coast to the S.F. Bay Area. It is one memory we continue to remember as it was the rock music scene, the car shows and the beautiful coast line. Also, it was the people we met that were not part of our usual So Cal scene. It was just something different.

So, over the years, we have always talked about when we used to drive our 327 powered 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery all over the place. But, these days, it is a modern, fast, comfortable with all of the conveniences that we have grown to enjoy. Not saying the sedan delivery was a stick in the mud, as it had a lot of the things we liked back then, like powerful motor, comfortable seats and A/C for the first time in our lives.

But, as much as driving around in the current day station wagons is concerned, we thought that our granddaughter would enjoy riding around in an old 40 Ford sedan that we had seen within a few miles away that was for sale. It was within our realm to purchase it and surprise our granddaughter at the time.
    upload_2021-9-2_4-12-24.png
So, we looked again while it was in the for sale location, the photos we took and others. Then as we had decided to go look for one last time before purchase, the pandemic hit with a vengeance and all bets were off. ..

Then as the pandemic continued in 2020, we kept checking the listing and then one day, it was sold. So, on to the next bright idea for two old folks and a teenage granddaughter. We must have been in a holiday mood. Sorry to see the local green 40 sedan being sold, but now our eyes are setting on a Candy Apple Red/Tahitian Red 1940 Ford Two Door Sedan version with similar accessories and build.
