I always liked the look of them, same deal with the NON SKID Firestones, brings me back to the 1950's restorations of Brass era cars. Day isn't over yet, maybe I'll poke around with part of the kickup project. Bob
Completely agree!! They have a style, like reading books as a kid, every thing across the pond had these tires. Not even money can find them anymore guess. Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
No photos, but I have spent some time on parts of the project. Both bottles are empty so no heating and bending or welding until I get full ones. Bob
Really don't care about my car projects so much any more, like following other peoples builds and the history of the hobby. Got a 10 week old puppy, life is good. Bob
It will change again as Hank gets older. So glad to have him. The Corona virus has a very sad effect on rescue dogs, people want dogs, but the rescue centers are closed, the centers can't get dogs, many get destroyed. Bob
Ha !!! May as well paint & stripe the 10 too. **the finish on those crossmembers !! Wish they could talk. Came off a nice car.
Hank just keeps growing, gets better looking every day. Thanks for the kind words on the project, I need to get back to doing something on it. Filling the welding tanks is step one. Bob
Had aimed for 95", but, by the time I was done making a mess of the Z, ended up at 90". Suppose I could put on the big boy pants and section something in the middle. Going to have a go with the front radius rods and steering for now. No originality claimed, going to follow your lead on how to fab the brackets, cleanest I have ever seen.
Over a year and no updates. Hershey was GREAT! Added an early back half of a T frame to the parts collection, note the forged fender brackets that bolt on. Great to have friends that give you great deals on stuff, the car will be rolling on Buffalo wire wheels 30 x 3 1/2, need two more and the hubs. Bob
Nice score! You don’t find nice Buffalos out of a set very often. Hubs can be a challenge, send me yur email and I’ll share a write up that discusses how to check if the hubs/nuts are any good. Have seen a lot of good money get spent on bad parts, hopefully I can save you some time or money as you piece together the rest of your set
CARETAKER NEEDED! The '29 Steelback build is providing a lot more fun, decided to SELL the BOTTAIL project. Not everything posted over the years is in the package. Pulled out most of the parts, still need to add others but these give you an overall ides of what goes with a T Speedster Starter Kit. Dropped T front axle, Chevy dropped spindles FOUR Hartford shocks, both frames, all the firewall parts & pieces, stock 1922 T engine apart for inspection. Thanks for your help and interest over the years. Bob
BUMMER! Just found this thread and was going to offer you my rebuilt Model T motor that's not going anywhere fast here. Was afraid you'd be driving it by now, but no. Come to think of it, I've got a 401 nailhead sitting on the floor, too. Wonder what it's like finishing something - - -
New month, and just a bit of reality, need someone else with the motivation to make progress on the Bob Tail. .I'm really enjoying to progress on my Chopped drivers door for the Fordor
Understand, I've just bought a 24 T roadster body, but sometimes wonder why (it was cheap?) As I have 3 nearly finished projects before it.... Hope someone here buys it & picks up where you left off!
