I think you should cut this guy some slack. I too think building hot rods starting at age four is rather early. I got my first model kit in '62 when I was six years old. I believe it was an AMT... LOL

""feeding my car addiction since 1981!!"" is 40 years so [almost, like he said] half a century. Too much chest puffing, slide him in instead of stomping on him.

I would get it running .drive it and see how it feels .flatheads are cool and sound nice with long cherry bombs that's what my dads '49 F-6 homles wrecker had with a 4 barrel sounded sweet and maybe a nice set of radicals .nuthing works like original just ask the guy with the wooden leg.

My stock 41 tudor rides over the speed bumps better than my wifes new Lincoln Aviator!
Sure it does lean a little more in the turns but that could be improved with a set of heavy duty sway bars and radials , BUT its fun and smooth the way it is .

My 47 Lincoln rides and drives as well or better than my wife's Expedition. It does have parallel rear leafs added, but the front is all Henry except for power steering. With a dependable later model powerplant, in my case a SBF, you can keep up with modern traffic and still enjoy the experience of an old ride. Best thing is pick an era and theme and stick to it.

I agree 100% with that philosophy, BamaMav!
