When you are out on the salt and the wind comes up it is something to experience. The first time I was there and a wind storm rolled it we stood facing the wind and tried our best to fall into it. I tried to hold a protractor to measure the angle I could lean, I was about 35 deg. It's a hell of a wind. Not to mention the next morning when the big dumpsters are full of destroyed popup canopies. They look like giant spiders climbing out of the dumpsters.

I understand what you are saying about the moisture content reducing power, but in fact the air density becomes less as humidity rises. It may be common parlance to say the humidity makes the air feel dense or thick but in reality the opposite is true - it is less dense with a lower overall oxygen content.
    Good luck with your runs.

The 2 main courses are 5 miles each. John is only allowed to run to the end of the 3rd mile for timing or qualifying. If he or any competitor (other than any streamliner) reaches 175 in the 1/4 which in the first 1/4 in the 2 to the 3 mile trap they can then go the entire 5 miles…it’s been that way since pretty much the beginning.

This is a grate story, that I've been following. You and the team did well. Safe travels for your journey home. Maybe next year and I may even be there if we can travel again. All the best Tim.
