Just a couple of the coupe out on the salt. All weekend I heard multiple racers and crews talk about how the salt was the best in a decade or so. I am no expert but it was super dry and hard and almost no sticking to my coupe at all. Wish I could have stayed longer.

 

Nice photos, Even a few race carts in the mix. I've been watching Gearhead hobbies and listening to the radio coverage on the net and they have been saying that it is great except that there seems to be a slick spot on the #2 track that is giving some guys some trouble.

Me neither…must be something new. Up at 5am, out on the salt, come in a 7pm, shower-eat-sleep … start over for 6 days…

Thanks mate, love the pics showing what we missed again. Still it's winter here and not allowed to travel, so this is how we do it.

 

First meets for me were '71&'72, dedicated racers, crews, and just a very few spectators. West Wendover consisted of 1/2 the Stateline, Jim's Casino, and maybe a gas station or two, main road right through both Wendovers, no I-80. Life got in the way and I didn't make it back until '08. The biggest shock change for me was the massive invasion of the spectators for the first weekend, many never making it out on the salt unless just to get their rigs salt sprayed to power park/profile at the Nugget sideshow.

Odds are I won't getting back again much as I'd like to. A big thanks to all who take the time and make the effort to post their pictures every year, helps to keep me updated.

I read Poteet replaced the AA with an A (500” max) and made a pass @ 466 and out the back at 475.

 

Same in ‘74 our first trip to spectate. Had a car and set a record in ‘75…. Kinda got the bug.
