The magazine back in the 1950’s have always listed the car as a 1951 Ford, due to the 1951 Ford parts used thru-out, But the car caem from the factory as an 1949 convertible The dash is still the original 1949 unit. The CHP traffic stop photo reminded me of this pic, SP didn't mess about with dealing with undesirables back in the old daze... Pic title sez "Outlaw biker club 1976" but it has to be 1978 or later via the square headlights.
Those are very early B24 models, picture caption notes 1942 so women had most likely just begun to enter the wartime workforce. That said, a crack like that would have gotten a solid kick in the shins from my grandmother.
I can't verify with actual numbers, but I hate to think how much war materiel would NOT have been made had it not been for women! Those ladies were a treasure!
