I like the middle version best, with the big marker lights on top.

IMG_1675.JPG got the tail lights and the license plate mounted. IMG_1659.JPG had to modify the tail light brackets to fit the stake pockets IMG_1658.JPG IMG_1649.JPG kinda liking the 3/4 view of this thing

Just put a tack of weld on that C clamp and you won't even need bolts. It'll also make a good spot to hook a bungee cord to whatever you're hauling.

Not much to report on the project for awhile because it’s been to hot to be in the shop but I did manage to start doing some body work on it 21E17F99-C7B3-47B1-B860-94617D475C75.jpeg I also started on the seat riser and mounting the battery

Love this truck and this build, but at the risk of sounding like a dick I hafta suggest you consider putting that battery in a sealed box, vented to the underside of the truck. Fumes from a lead acid battery, even a "sealed" one, could be really nasty in the interior, and could rust everything around the battery.
No offence intended, just a constructive suggestion.

I’m totally open to suggestions my thought was that the battery is mounted no differently than the way it’s mounted in a stock model A. Perhaps I should open the seat frame bottom a bit more to gain more airflow around the battery. Thanks for your suggestion.

Yup, and a stock model A put the gas tank in your lap too.

I understand that space is at a premium, and the baby hemi's generator would probably never boil the battery. Still, personally I'd rather not share the driver's compartment with a gas tank or battery. Gas fumes and battery hydrogen are very flammable, and I wouldn't want to wear the contents of either in a rollover.

I've used these for trunk mounted batteries-

They have a lid gasket and a pvc tube that vents the box below the vehicle. Looks like one would fit under your seat and be virtually invisible. Not trying to twist your arm...

Getting back on the project a bit more. Took some time and mounted the front spreader bar and license plate bracket D317AC0D-523D-4123-8F7B-C8D97D6EC7E9.jpeg I also wanted to run hood sides on the truck but the valve covers on a baby Hemi don’t clear the hood sides so I am in the process of learning hammer forming. I found some street rod hood sides at a swap meet for cheep they had some blisters in the wrong place so I filled in the blisters. Here the driver side hood side is mounted on the truck with one of my practice blisters 3AFB0D94-000B-450E-BDF6-E0A909201D7B.jpeg BBA4D5DF-6093-47CF-BDD3-133C74A1DFEE.jpeg 9A9CC66E-4422-44D7-A1AA-930E1BF8C635.jpeg 0452B79B-FCC9-419B-BEFD-77B4D1F11B18.jpeg B5847B0A-FCB6-4DF3-A8CF-AB318B6F007A.jpeg EF871984-597E-4D4C-BB69-CFDB88C01896.jpeg A50BD13A-DEEA-444A-8A90-1349AE4BD273.jpeg

Spent some time with a shrinking disc and a slap hammer to try and smooth this out it turned out ok in my opinion 557580E1-235C-485C-948B-16380D9732D1.jpeg

Is this going to be fill primer, or epoxy? Are you going to fill prime the hood and sand around all those louvers?

It’s going to be the primer from Happy days Epoxy. Sanding around the louvers shouldn’t be too bad it’s going to take a bit of time though

Here we are everything is in final primer just waiting for it to dry for two more days then we can wet sand a bit. Some of the smaller brackets and nick knacks are in final color 64A31397-7E30-48CC-A7F4-3CA092657051.jpeg

So today was the day we got some paint on the fire wall and the interior pretty happy with the way it turned out. Using my harbor freight purple gun and some Van Sickle implement paint 5074A248-4982-4E83-B189-4F8EF6F1210E.jpeg D3E2837B-6342-4AA4-BDD7-C0C5AAE71200.jpeg 79ECBBA7-FDA3-4A14-858F-3277F1CD4951.jpeg 543F1C2A-A5A6-4414-A52C-2A9C292737AE.jpeg 8AA03057-74FB-438F-83B6-62C8B30FA2FE.jpeg

How did painting in the garage go? I'll have to do some of that in the near future and I'm wondering if there's any good way to keep overspray off the walls. Hood looks good, also I like that bumper sticker on the blue trash can.

Painting in the garage went like this cover everything you don’t want over spray with plastic the stuff on the walls has a good coat of dirt on it now so it just got a bit more on it. Or I’m just not noticing it. Over all I’m pretty impressed with how it’s turning out thanks for the compliments

Got everything else in color today so that should conclude the body work portion of the project. Till we get to the fenders bit more on that later. Today we took some time to give the chassie a bath. I also messed with putting 16” wheels on all four corners.
The final plan for this truck is to have fenders and 15” Ford steel wheels. But for now I’m going to mock it up with 16” wheels and no fenders. It was also the day the cab got set on the frame for the final time B55198DE-D0C4-4CC1-9F80-76EA880467F1.jpeg B55198DE-D0C4-4CC1-9F80-76EA880467F1.jpeg E1EAEDF3-C26C-40E4-BCC0-365CDC7A9485.jpeg 015A9D0B-1944-4111-B104-3AA6A9DC51DD.jpeg DBCED7A2-6A00-49F6-AEBE-EDC9B53C636A.jpeg E291C481-BDAC-40E8-8FC9-E701135B52E2.jpeg 96FC8A3D-D6B6-4AF1-A2E5-6C59585AF6E8.jpeg 8AEA1B4C-F21F-4CCD-A757-C7A2CBFD79FC.jpeg B7684BE3-223D-4DBC-AD46-1C672AD6741D.jpeg 5FE1D2D0-1E14-42FD-8151-7800EECAF29D.jpeg
