  2. I dare anyone to drop one of those blocks off at a machine shop just to see the look on their faces. "How much for an overhaul?"

  3. I’d call that a wall hanger

I was there for a few months in the late 90's...never ran across it. Also never went past Barking Sands....

    Good stuff!

Very surreal, like a glimpse into the planet's future. All that is missing is a couple of filthy apes on horseback.

That reminds me of the wreck of the Peter Iredale a sailing schooner that went aground north of what is now Sea Side Oregon by the mouth of the Columbia in October of 1906. My grand parents took me to see it in the mid 50's on one of our gram and Pa take the grands to the ocean trips. They always had some historical sites that they wanted to stop at and It was always some place interesting. In the mid 50's there was pretty much a complete steel ships skeleton there. the-wreck-of-peter-iredale.jpg

So, what's going to work best? Citric acid, electrolysis or molasses? White vinegar would be my pick.

One of those engine blocks would make for good yard art, or maybe the base for a glass top coffee table. The only problem would be carrying the thing home...
