Really dislike Bendsten's starter, it just doesn't flow with vintage parts. Checked out your cat at Ty-Rods. You nailed it, Ron pcv6.jpg pcv7.jpg

Just a quick ? Regarding these power plants. I have a 390 and was curious as to what radiators you guys are using to keep them cool?

Here are a couple of Caddys in cars I've built. The first is a 390 with and Edmund's intake and WCFB carbs. It's in the #ElDorodder 32 Tudor.

How did those headers fit with the stock steering box?

That's the only other Weiand Cadillac 3 carb intake I've seen. I put mine on the Bridgeport to get the carburetor mounting flanges more in line with crankshaft centerline. Carburetors had a drastic forward tilt. I always thought it was a marine application. So now I'm confused. Ron

  12. The truck had custom headers and a vega box. The sedan had Sanderson headers and an f1 box.

hi ..its been a while but for all the cool info i always come back to the hamb..the pix on this thread have been sent to my client who wants to put his 50 caddy engine in the 1928 model a that we have here (in spain..ie..we run with what is available..which is not much)..the mechanix has asked if i can find out any info about the gearboxes..I´m guessing manual boxe are as rare as hens teeth even over there in the states..is there feasible manual box that people use for these engines or does everyone keep the auto?..thanks in advance jonathan

Only the really early stuff had the sticks behind them. I would think it would be easier to adapt a late model tranny to that bell housing, rather than the later.

    Wilcap makes a nice piece.

What y'all using for a charging system and with what brackets? I plan on using Sanderson block huggers.

I am planning on fabbing my own generator brackets. I like the idea of chroming the generator housing and voltage regulator.

Here is the '55 331 I put in my '40 earlier this year. I made my own generator bracket and used a '57 Ford generator and voltage regulator. I used two driver's side exhaust manifolds, and I needed two adapter plates to go to the Ford transmission since the '55 does not have the extended bell like the earlier motors. 20200803_213409.jpg

I got my adapter and flywheel for the 57 engine from wilcap. It wasn’t cheap but I’m happy with the purchase. Good people to deal with.

Here is the 53 Cadillac motor in my 33 coupe - basically a stock rebuild. Have a 3-2 setup ready to install later on. IMG_3018.jpg IMG_2967.jpg
