Off we go down the row again. Gotta get me one of those big hats. The folks from Hells gate Hotrods had their both set up with a show and tell display.
I finally got to see the Black Ford Wagon with the Crown Vic band that our own Rocket's hot rod Garage built. Car is world class and I'd say it looks so right it sure confused more than one older dude.

Dang I was more interested in finding a spot to sit than check out the engine on the 216 car when I took the photo. Looks to be an interesting setup to keep the carbs low and not have a hood scoop.
Then I took a much needed break on the end of a picnic table bench and listened to the band for a bit.
I see some regular competitors at the Billetproof drags in the next to the last photo.

Let go see what's down in that other parking lot.
That big old rusty bus was getting a lot of attention from spectators who had ideas on how they would redo it.
The Merc with the Carson top out of the Washington tri-Cities always looks great when you get to see it.
Some of the PNW Aces and Eights made it. Those guys aren't afraid of a few road miles. Getting down to the short rows now, Dude in the bright shirt apologized for getting in a shot and I just said that was ok, I'd make him famous so if he is on the Hamb he is now famous. That blue F100 wasn't fancy but it was just flat nice.
I've seen the chopped black 36 a number of times but have never seen the engine before. Noel this was on my bucket list until we got the Chinese Virus. Just had my second AZ jab this morning so now I should be bulletproof.

The Chopped fat fender Plymouth is shaping up pretty nice.
The chopped Shoebox Ford was for sale on the local Facebook Market placed and I had it in my saved items. I see it did sell. Meaning someone bought it, put it back together and took it to Pendleton.
    Nice car for what the seller was asking for it. IMG_2010.JPG IMG_2011.JPG IMG_2012.JPG IMG_2013 (2).JPG IMG_2015.JPG IMG_2016.JPG IMG_2017.JPG IMG_2018.JPG IMG_2019.JPG IMG_2020.JPG IMG_2021.JPG IMG_2023.JPG IMG_2024.JPG IMG_2025.JPG IMG_2026.JPG IMG_2027.JPG

Sweet 32 Vicky and then down to Hustler III aiming for the sky.
A shot of a couple of Nice back ends and then back across the street.
It looks like my internet has speeded up a tad as the photos are loading faster.

One more deck lid shot and then off across the street to take a rest break in the "cooling area" with the fans blowing across the misters and a cooler of bottled water with honor system pay jar.
Then as I was cooling off and drinking cold water I managed to watch a real pro camera dude in action plus being in stealth mode while sneaking up on an unsuspecting roadster napper.
I finished my break, convinced my knees that it wasn't really that far back to stealth car and made down past a nice flathead to the Ol' Skool rodz booth where I handed a pretty redhead my last five dollar bill for the latest edition. That made a grand total of 7 bucks I actually spent in Pendleton proper. Sure got to wishing that I had gone in one of the places close by for lunch though.

Out past a no sticker 32 and back to the car to head back home.

Started home and stopped at Hermiston to get a couple of things and find something to eat and my wife calls and says that our daughter called and the family party for her soon to be hubby was tonight and would I be able to make it home in time to pick her up and turn around and drive half way back. She found out that somehow you can put three adult butts in the back seat of a little Jeep Renegade and I didn't have to add another 125 miles to my day.

I hope everyone enjoys the photos and I'll start putting the Smugmug album together that will include the shots I didn't show. Hope I don't disappoint the guys with the late 50's and 60's crustina cars that I didn't show here But they will be in the Smug Mug album.

Last note, did the Kid with the Black 65 Ford ever get his axle put back together? He was had an axle with new bearing in hand when I had moved my car but it was not together when I went back to the car later. After checking the photo a bit She was indeed. Legal where we were. Open carry is legal in Oregon outside of the Portland Metro area.

Great batch of shots in your smugmug. I didn't see any that wouldn't be HAMB friendly. :)

A couple of sets of "rims" was it. They were very adamant about the fact that if you car didn't meet criteria it would be turned away and I didn't even see the usually don't qualify for the event rigs around town that you see at most traditional events like Billetproof. Not one actual rat rod to be seen anywhere I was either.
There may have been a couple of patina rigs and a big truck or two that I didn't take an individual photo of but usually they were in the background. The patina rigs weren't the usual rust bucket but what I would call running and driving project cars. Some like the Hudson hardtop were pretty cool in their own right. Every photo I took is on Smugmug.
