I just bought this 55 f100 that had been sitting for probably 15 years. I hooked some wires and a 12 volt attery to it and it spins freely, however I have no spark. I then cleaned the contact and gave the contact a little more gap, but still no spark. I replaced the coil with one from my running Flathead but still no spark. What are yalls recommendations. I am willing to replace anything necessary. See picture for what I have

Are you using the original wiring??
Have you tried a jumper wire direct from the battery to the coil??
Have you got power to the coil, then thru to the moving arm of the points??
Earth wire in the distributor no broken??

Not your starting problem, but isn't a 55 Ford 6 volt positive ground, thought they went 12 volt in 56. Swap in a new condenser after verifying you have power to the coil.

sounds like doing the full 12volt conversion may be the right choice
