This is tragic . He was a wealth of knowledge without coming off as a " know it all " . I hope he had a great life . My condolences to his family .

I sent him a question: I have a 1953 Chevy 6 with stock 3 speed, Can I convert the stock 3 speed trans to Open Drive Shaft, and a S-10 rear end?

He never answered, Who's the go-to guy now.?

So sad. He was always willing to help out especially younger people just starting out in the hobby. My condolences to his family. I wish I could have met him.

Condolences to his family. His HAMB family will also miss him. The HAMB landscape changes yet again, it’s humbling to consider the collective brain trust that we’ve lost over the years.

 

As a younger Trifive enthusiast I read almost every thread on Trifives here on the HAMB and they all have knowledgeable commentary from Butch. Learned a lot by reading his posts over the years and on more than one occasion seen him offer parts to young up and coming hotrodders at reasonable prices or free. the HAMB wont be the same without him.

 

Sad to hear that as we shared alot of the same issues. R.I.P. Butch

Just checked his profile page and it says he was online here the day he passed. I'm sure that means he went with a smile

 

Just came upon this post and am just shocked at his passing. I always read all of his postings. He had an amazing wealth of knowledge. We are going to find it very difficult to replace his contributions to this forum.

So sorry to hear of Butch's passing, what can I add to all that has already been said about his knowledge which he shared always! Nothing I can say except that I was also happy to see when he posted on a thread as his addition was always received as fact and he will be missed by everyone that read his posts!

 

Not good! Only knew him from here and had a few long distance dealings with him thru the years. Straight up guy!!!

When I got the shifer from him he mentioned downsizing so it sounds like he knew something was up.

 

RIP. Frightening that he’s the same age as me, short 4 days! His knowledge will be missed

 

Thanks to the powers that be that gave "Emeritus" status to Butch. Sure would be nice if he had an Avatar pic to go along with it. I think I can get Butch's password to the HAMB from his daughter, would it be a crime if we, I, her posted a pic of his '56 sedan delivery for an Avatar pic?

 

I think that would be a nice thing but JMO.

 

I always looked forward to reading his posts, he will be missed R.I.P.

I respected Butch and said a prayer for him, also asked the Lord to let Butch look over my shoulder and give me advice during my 56 build.
