...The Pierson Brothers were a very influential team and this Knockout Coupe did 140mph or so helping solidify that...I believe both Original Coupes still exist with this Incredible Capture above taken by Tim Sutton aka @notrod13...

Must be surreal the mix of greatness enveloping the soul in many of these projects you undertake...

  5. Small heat shield I did for under a 32 Pickup .
The machine I have for this is a Vibro-Shear , similar to the Pullmax.

Nice work @Shrapnel, is that all done with one die or several?

These are cut to length , as opposed to punched at a set size .
Takes 4 or 5 passes to cut and shape each louver.

  10. Cheers Stogy.

These ones are cut to length , not punched .
Upper Tool is like a 1” long punch , lower Tool is also 1” long but has open ends to allow for the length of cut to be made .
Takes 4 or 5 passes to cut and shape each louver .
Not the quickest of process’s , but means than can be almost any length.

Cheers Shrappy...Such an interesting way to form Louvers...How old is that method of forming? For all I know it might be the original...

  14. See if this works Stogy . It’s a link to a video of louvers being cut into a panel.
The method of cutting louvers has been around a long time .
If you look close , you’ll see him adjust the bottom die up (Lifting the panel) after each pass , making the louver shape deeper with each pass.
Some guys will do the cut in one pass , but this can often mean there’s more work required to tidy up the louver .

    Hope this helps

...Thanks for sharing that @Shrapnel...in metal shop we had a pullmax...we used it for shearing and dishing metal...It's obviously a very diverse machine...that's really cool...

Is that a Roof being punched?

I’m not sure what panel that is . It’s a random video I found on line .
Yeah , the Pullmax and Vibro-Shear are both very versatile machines .

It suits it very well including the angle...
Looks possibly from Downunder noting the close ratio fenders...

    Our Roadster from behind.
This car was first built as a Track Nosed T . Unfortunately the trunk lid is the only louvered panel left from its previous Track Nose Life .
Hood Top and Sides , Rolled pans etc , all of which were louvered using a Vibro-Shear to cut them in 1980ish , have all long gone at the hands of previous owners to us .
