Here’s an old one I built years ago 64 Dodge Dart afx started off with a Turbocharged 273 4 speed ended up with a 440 4-speed IMG_1445.JPG

What year is the motorhome donor? With the Thermoquad, it has to be a least a 1973, which would have a cast crank. Chrysler never made a flywheel for the cast crank big blocks. If you use an internal balance flywheel with a cast crank motor you will have a severe vibration. Let us know how you got around this.

    ...not exactly...
MaMopar offered forged cranks in 400 and 440 as late as 1973 (a couple of my 400-4spd RoadRunner's had them) and I had a 440 from a 73 NYer in the shop w/forged crank.
Some MH engines had TQ after the switch to Q-jet on pass cars/trucks due to production lag time.
    Never say 'never' with MaMopar.......

I agree. Forged cranks with manual transmissions. But the motorhomes were more than likely cast cranks with the 727. I was just throwing this out there in case he didn't know. If he would have said he got the 440 from a 73 or possible 74 Charger or Roadrunner with a manual trans, it would be good. I did see a 74 Gran Fury Nebraska State Patrol car with the 440 and forged crank many years ago. Rickybop-please post a closeup picture of the harmonic balancer on that 440. That should settle it. I have a forged crank 1973 HP 440 out of a 4 dr Newport.

I just scored this one last month. Not really a HAMBmobile, but a factory hot rod Mopar. 345 cid/345 hp DeSoto Hemi.

Loud, if I use the push button shifter to manually shift it and let it rev, it really flies. But it doesn't have a tachometer so I have been pretty cautious on winding it up. I think I should temporarily put a tachometer in it so that I can see what mile per hour in each gear the RPM redlines.
