Was gas caps getting stolen an issue back in the day? I noticed my 29s cap got initials installed at some point in its life.

Dad must've named him. No loving mother would have ever done that to their child.

Back in the early '70s, a customer at the service station where I worked lost his gas cap on his ot Duster. He mentioned it to his friends at school and in the next couple of days he had gas caps of every Duster color available. Lol. Ron

No Idea but I ran a locked gas cap on my 48 for a long time because I was loosing a gas cap a month. The cap being low on the passenger side of the box caused me to not notice it missing until I walked around to that side of the truck and may have made it easy pickings for sticky fingers.
