I have been going to this place as long as I've been in the hobby and most of the cars i got my first parts from are still there 35 years later.

Great pictures. Love these old junk yards! Not many left. Looks to be lots of good parts still there.

Good looking stash, looks similar to several we have or had around here in Wisconsin. I'd suggest picking over anything you might be able to use or re-sell if the price is right, and soon. Steel prices are up, and you never know how long stuff like that will stay laying around.

Near Mancelona. It's pretty off the grid. The guy that owned it when I first was going there didn't have a phone or anything, his son is running it.

Absolutely, my dad and I got anything usable from the '55 Fords long ago. We've seen a crusher there once, but he wasn't crushing any of the older stuff. I'm pretty sure the son that's running the place now is the same way.

There did used to be a lot of REO Speedwagons, once I counted about 40. Those may well be missing because they rusted into the ground.

There are a few cars I haven't been able to find. There was a '56 Buick convertible, that one was in the woods and the floor was completely gone 30 years ago. And there was a '56 Cadillac ambulance.

Some of the '55 Fords have been moved out of the trees, the area they were seems like it's definitely seen flooding. The front frame broke off on one of them in the process.

I'm about 2 and a half hours south of that location, and I heard people talking about how dry it's been around here. It' almost August and I haven't watered my grass once and been mowing on a weekly basis.

Lots of wagons. I really like the '59 Ford. Too far gone but still gets me thinking.

Didn't see this until today but I was pretty full on activity last weekend pulling front suspension and a rear axle. I can see if it's still there on the car I posted above. I did get some more pictures of another wagon but it looks like the tailgate is gone... This one has been there a while.

Also adding some truck pics. The 2 from the '40's still have the flathead engines under the hood. 40s Ford dumptruck.jpg 40s Ford truck cab.jpg 59 chevy wagon front.jpg 59 chevy wagon rear.jpg red f1 truck.jpg

Couple other places I've been depending on which hour away we're talkng about would be Beulah Auto Parts (Beaulah, MI area over to the west) or Lee's Auto Parts just north of Alpena on the East. They're both still out there but I haven't been to either since the '90's. They look like I remember from google maps. Beaulah was always one to be neat and organized, but not really a place to expect low prices. Lee's had an area with a lot of the older cars stacked up.. up to 5 high. You can see the area where everything looks stacked up from google maps.

FYI I made a trip last weekend but only came away with photos... 339 of them, but somehow I missed the 1959 Chevy's. I'll be making my last trip for this year over labor day weekend.

Reminds me a little of a place north of fremont that I got to go to a few times last year. Lots of cars all throughout the woods.
Any straight stainless, especially the strips behind the wheel openings, on the fleetlines is worth grabbing. Also look for Chevy banjo/accessory steering wheels.
    cool pics, thanks for sharing!
