for the most part. i have increased the jets a couple sizes but it's still not perfect. I'm going to replace the base on the primary carb this winter. Shaft has a little play in it so i am sure it's got a twinge of a vacuum leak but not to a point where i can't tune it. I'm going to sneak up a couple more jet sizes too. Have a couple plugs that are a little sooty still where all the rest are a nice golden brown as they should be. If it was easy everyone would run multi carbs...
Yes i took this pic at the last Loafers race held in Ashcroft. Still pisses me off that the track closed. Stupid politics screwed the whole deal for a town that could really use the benefit of a draw like the track was.
Great photo and beautiful car. somewhere I have more pics of it that I took from the Loafers old time drags.
it's a killer car and knowing that it came out of a barn only an hour away from me hurts just a little... ha ha maybe there's a deuce coupe hiding somewhere close that i can stumble upon!
Thanks for the background. I love the car. I had seen the Quonset hut photo some time back but without any background.
oh ya, I see someone posted a link to the article on the history behind the car. Very cool story. Maybe someday i will find a gem hidden somewhere like @IronTrap he gets all the cool stuff being lucky enough to live back east where all the gold is hidden in the hills...
I know what you mean... this year and last have been the worst for fires in the Pac NW in my 72 years of living here. Odd twist of fate, but now that Pac NW fire smoke is reaching the East Coast, MAYBE someone will finally look at our fire situation as serious (that's what it took during the Dust Bowl era).
that sucks the track closed there, I have great memories of going to the races there, best crappy track cheeseburgers a guy could have!
I haven't posted anything for a long time. So I thought I'd show this. Been driving it for 30 years. Speedo has been around once since then. New paint 2 months ago. 327 Turbo 350 and Nova rear. All homebuilt by me and friends other than the paint and some bodywork. Edmonton./ formerly St Albert, Alberta I
I see rain drops on them cars... we'd kill for some rain right now! Fires have been super close to us in Kamloops and breathing smoke for the last month plus! Another hot week ahead in the high 30's. On another note Jeff, have you ever rubbed the bottom of the grille shell? she sits real low!
Yea... it has many scrapes on the bottom..... The grill has been repaired 3x... oh well . I also take out a lot of small wildlife....
Animal killer!!! You're gonna give us hot rodders a bad name! Ya that grill looks like it would scrape a lot of speed bumps in parking lots. The ride height i had set on my 68 Camaro was brutal for that. looked great but I really had to think about where I was driving it. So far with the coupe I've never had any trouble which I definitely appreciate. Pissed me off every time the Camaro would scrape.
