Well I hit the salvation army thrift store the other day and picked up a del shannon and a Jan and dean LP records in actually very good shape.

I spent what part of the night I could by dusting off the old 70's turn table, turning on the receiver and jamming to it until you almost had to leave the room.

Made it thru 1 side completely and with only 2 songs left on the other side the girlfriend walks in the door and starts complaining about my choice of numbers on the volume knob..... Sadly I turned it down and let it finish out.....

Now the conundrum.... Do I get a record player for the shop? Or do I just open up the windows and raise the volume knob alittle more???

Went thrift store shopping a couple weeks back and picked up another 70's stereo system. This time a pioneer complete with original huge speakers, turn table and cassette player ( didn't know pioneer made one that early).

This thing just flat out gets loud and the clarity is unbelievable at high levels!

Would luv to be able to set it up in my shop with the doors open and let this thing scream. Now if we had a 50's stereo channel around here I could jam to while working !

I've been trying to listen to some of the newer music out there and I just can't seem to do it.

Most newer country now sounds closer to 80's pop sung with a twang more than an actual country song.

Rock, if thats what you wanna call some of it, has no depth to it, most of it now reminds me of a type bubble gum/teen music anymore.

So I find myself turning the radio station after about 15 minutes.

    Now that you mention it...
It kinda does. Simple. Not overwrought.

    SiriusXM, usually Outlaw County.

Just announced that Commander Cody passed at 77. Cancer got him.

Other times Amazon Music. Dave Alvin, Townes, Jr Brown, etc, or maybe the Grateful Dead

I actually spent last weekend at flea markets and one of the items I went searching for is records!

I found a couple that I wouldn't mind having (pink floyd the wall) but the prices were just a little more than my
    desire to own them.

Good thing bad thing is atleast walmart is releasing a bunch of new press records but they are not cheap either.

Sitting in the shop right now basically accomplishing nothing and listening to "we'll go around in circles" on the radio right now.... well maybe I ought to get something accomplished...... well maybe not..... Just have to play it by ear..... LOL
