    Hello,

One of the nicest looking old hot rods was shown to be in So Cal. It fits the old fenderless style of the early 50s. It pays to have a digital camera ready when driving around doing the short term trips to the bank or for filling the gas tanks. A nice maroon paint, black wire wheels and blackwalls gives it some attitude.

I also liked the license plate that was not shown for obvious reasons. But, if you see it on the road, check it out. A fleeting moment of a style from So Cal 1950s era.

    Hello,

Here we go again being “out viewed,” if there is such a thing. We were driving around to check out the latest big surf that was rolling into the So Cal coastline and drove through some old industrial areas. The beach is just a mile or so away, but the best surfing areas are a longer road trip just South, towards Oceanside, CA.

But, since my wife knows a convertible or two, see can spot them a mile away. In this case, while we were cruising down this street, she saw this 1965 Oldsmobile Convertible quite a distance away. She has an eye for spotting those old cars, since I am the majority driver. We like seeing those old cars as we have our own tastes. The old hot rods and cruisers were what we grew up riding around in and seeing them almost daily on the streets of So Cal.

Our old eyes are still sharp, but, she can spot a convertible from quite a distance. More kudos to her. If I can take a digital photo with my camera, while driving, then that is good. But, if the shot can be composed, my wife has a good eye for a photo shoot. Sometimes, these cars just pop up and we drive by missing the photo opportunity. If the old folks can get their eyes and actions going, a photo or two can be taken.
