I was just re-reading the A Fuel Coupes thread which included lots of commentary by the late Don Montgomery and others from drag and lakes racing in the 1950's and later. There were some bitchin' '35 and '36 Ford fuel class coupes in the thread. It got me thinking about how nice '35 and '36 Fords have been as hot rods through the years. Not really thinking about the custom versions or tail dragger's even though they are more than awesome too. Here are some of my photos that I have collected. What do you have from the 30's through 1960's period builds. Do you have any favorites? https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/a-fuel-coupes-don-montgomery-32-3w.873097/
My first car was a '35 bought in '58 from my uncle. He paid $35. for it from a widow. He drove it for a week and called my Dad to see if he could sell it to me. I'd been cutting lawns and building concrete dry stack walls so had some money. We agreed on $17.50. I kept it until I got my drivers license and sold it to a friend. Great old car!
