These are the first pieces to a comprehensive AV8 kit, with more parts like front wishbone, torque tube spacer and chatter rods coming soon. Also, we have a open drive T5 version of this K-member for the Model A that will be in production soon.

Yes I have the open drive T5 Prototype for the 32 frame in my hands I just have to put it together and put it in the frame to check everything. The closed Drive 3 speed version for the stock 32 frame is done, I'm just waiting for a batch to show up from the laser cutter for those. I'm also making master cylinder Bell cranks that will fit the stock 32 K-members both left and right hand drive.

Nice work ! While I happen to be one of those who wouldn't even consider chopping an original 32 'K' member ... to each his own. I personally would probably opt. for an F-1 modified drop out cross member or what you so skillfully offer, I can only imagine what a pain those originals were when it came time for transmission service, perhaps your version bolted in could resolve that issue as well.

 

I don't know if you've noticed, but the cost of materials right now is Sky High. I don't work for free and I would bet you don't either.

We are working on a few things that could be bringing the cost down but I WILL NOT resort to inferior Chinese parts or labor to do so.

 

I can pull the engine and transmission out of one of these cars in under an hour. It really isn't that big of a deal.

If you haven’t bought any metal in the last year and a half I don’t think you’d believe how much higher it is. Absolutely effects product price

 

If you can get material. Work in the commercial door and hardware business and what took 4-6 weeks is now an easy 8-12. Some aluminum suppliers have told me they have orders on the books that won't ship until 2023.

I was just saying the other day how cool it would be if someone with the know how and equipment could build an AV8 kit. YOU DID IT! VERY NICE! Now if only someone could fab new "A" rails and rear dog legs, there could be an AV8 complete chassis kit to use with Brookville bodies. Brand new period hot rods with out sacrificing old irreplaceable iron. The price point is not bad considering. I may order one. Very cool! Thanks for filling that gap were Tardel left off.

Not if you have a full fendered car. Hood off, exhaust disconnects, wiring, radiator drain and pull it and shell, torque tube clam shell, blocking torque tube, etc. equals lots of work. A bolt on, drop down for transmission only removal would be a good thing

 

Wanna bet?$? I've done it many times in the past ...as a matter of fact I did it two weeks ago (full fenders and all). It's not much work, if you are smart going about it. The 32 may as well have a zipper.

On second thought, I have over 25 years of working flat rate jobs in a car dealership. I don't F-around. It may take others an hour and twenty minutes if they are trying hard enough.

I’ve seen new unboxed A rails available, not sure where it was. I know that Rjays sells boxed A rails

 

I've seen the boxed rails with the square tube Z'd rear cross member, but I haven't seen true unboxed "A" frame rails. I have seen new front crossmembers, but never the rears. Maybe one shop could get with another shop and list this stuff in one spot to ease the search. The old stuff is cool, don't get me wrong, but new solutions are very cool too. They all have there place when it comes to skill level and style of the builders. Really neat stuff!

 

Very cool. Will the prices be the same for 32 rails? Super nice quality right there. I love the comment about flat rate as most people have no idea how that works and how hard you have to work to make it successful as a paycheck.
