The H A M B is a strange place. When N S R A bumped up the year to 82. Everybody was gonna ban Walker Radiator. Then when he closed everybody was sad. Now with new owners, everybody is thrilled. The first(or the second) unhappy customer will then start a thread and complain to the whole world.

  2. I have had my Walker in my coupe for 15 years and before that, a Model A coupe with one and both have been perfect. Here in AZ, it can get really hot and no issues at all. I was already buying up old Walkers as a backup just in case of accident or something else and so glad Alan came on here with the straight story.

  3. Very few folks here knew the Walker/NSRA connection

I put a Walker in my A because Mike and Jim Barrillaro said it was what I needed. It hurt a little to pay for it but my car never overheats even with the way I drive it. So it was worth every penny.
Glad to hear that the legacy will continue.

  5. Drove my coupe around town today. Just got it back. Walker radiator well over 20 years old with ac on. 180 degrees

I do. I never had any problems with his radiator product...so I've used them for the past 35 years. But I did have a problem with his NSRA product....so 1992 was the last one of those I attended.

The photo shows the sticker that @lurker mick had mentioned in the thread that I originally posted the above comment in. I have not attended a NSRA event in years, I have nothing against free enterprise but I did expect the National Street Rod Association to remain pre ‘49 especially after their Street Machine division folded.

I recall a couple of slogans by our late departed scribe, Tom 'Stroker' Medley:

    Street is neat
    East is neat

Finally, but not sure who coined the 'final one': West is best.
(there were cast aluminum plaques, similar to the 'Moon Equipped' and 'No Club, Lone wolf')

I spoke with them at Shades of the Past in September. They didn’t think they would be ready till spring time. Snowman ⛄️

    Anyone heard any new news?
Sent them an email inquiry 2 weeks ago….no response.

  20. I called today. Was told, HOPEFULLY, they would have some needed materials in the next 6-8 weeks and would then be able to know better when production can start. No promises made though.

Thankfully I’m far enough out that I can wait a little bit. I’d love to be able to run one in my coupe.

  21. <--------------- The radiator in my old beater is a Walker and I bought it 33 years ago, I have never had a problem with it and the beauty of a copper/brass radiator if i DO have a problem my local radiator shop can repair it, unlike the off shore aluminum radiators. HRP

    They’re worth the wait. ;)

  23. I know the Johnson name will be a mark of quality just like the car's that Allen builds. HRP

Great radiators. Used in many 40’s. Never an issue. Bought a spare in case I do another. In the attic

I sure am glad I got a NOS one with my 34 Tudor project and already had one for my 49 Buick build! Maybe they will be back in production by the time I take on my Packard!

Have a new/never used spare Deuce Walker. Could let it go if someone is really in a bind.

My Walker was plugged, due to a used engine in my first build. Had it re-cored for the Rocket rebuild.

  29. Just thinking out loud but all these years we have talked about our Walkers, so you think some might giggle when we talk about our Johnson's in the future. o_O HRP

I hope this works out better than the return of TRJ.

    I’m sure it will.
