Thanks for your concern Rod! The coil and resistor setup came that way. We'll see how it goes. I want to keep the firewall and engine as tidy as I can and there's no real ideal location to mount the coil out there. I have run a setup like this before on my truck....same deal, wanted to keep things minimal. I DO however have a small vacuum fan I was gonna stick under the dash too....to we'll see......and yes, I was planning on just the center carb until things settle. The linkage isn't even tight. Thanks for hangin'!!

Driver side done!! Well, except for the hangers which are on the way....
Now I can make templates for the floors and cut them this weekend.... I start finishing up the wiring once the floors are secured.... Then it’s on to all the odds and ends....it’s been a long road to hoe fellas and it’s all starting to pay off!

Just a wild thought, since you are doing such a nice job with the build.
Exhaust even without modern stuff gets hot over time. Since you built the whole system without a floor and it's still open, have you thought about hanging shielding too?
It would help any sound/heat insulation you plan to lay down later.
Around town is fine, but if this is going on all day jaunts, it could make it more comfortable.
The main point I see are those first bends to horizontal right under the floor, which are going to get warm on the outside of the bends, pointing right under your backside, and whatever might be stored under there, if anything.

Got new bulb sockets and bulbs installed in my tail lamps, made a bracket for my continuous duty main power switches and made templates for my floor panels. I brought them home with me so I can cut them this weekend. Enjoy your weekend everyone!

    Floors cut, sanded and stained.....
”slate” it’s called. Another big step done! No remarks about the garage! I know! It’s been neglected since I started building the coupe. Have a great weekend everyone!

Had to make female hoops for the transmission ends of the shift linkage....I’ll be welding them to turnbuckles so I can make my linkage adjustable. I’ll post pics when linkages are complete.....try and stay cool fellas!

I’m likin’ it! Came out better than I thought....considering the cobbled together sedan/roadster/coupe subframe!

Harley Davidson brake light switch! I did have to shorten it and put the inverted flare in it....should work great! Body mounts in and tight....now I’m mocking up gas tank location and frame cover panel. I’ll take care of the trunk firewall once I get the tank secured in it’s permanent home. Thanks for stoppin’ by fellas!

Got my package tray blasted, painted and installed....also got my brake and clutch linkages hooked up and pedals sorted. They were hitting the column so they were in need of some attention....I’m just checkin’ sh*t right off my list! Stay cool everyone!

Rear lamps secured and wired! I’ll run the fuel sender and pump forward in separate harness, I’d rather keep the lighting harness isolated. It’ll be all neat and tidy....have a great weekend everyone!

Seat finished! This’ll do just fine...Just have to tidy up the frame and make some type of riser.

Thanks LB! I’ve sublet NOTHING on this build and have done everything myself, so I figured why not do the seats to....so I gave it a go....

Headlamps, brake lights and turn signals wired! The red and white wires will be going to my hi/low switch. Now as soon as my fuse block comes, I can wire my main power and B+ for everything! That little bit of harness between the frame and column is all you can see from the outside.....the inside will be just as invisible when I’m done..... have a happy!!

Made my own lic plate bracket, it also accommodates the Chevy tag lamp assembly! Made a gasket for it and tapped into the park lamp circuit. I’ve knocked a huge chunk off my check list.....the remaining list is getting smaller .....that much closer yo driving!

Ok....want a couple opinions from you guys. Leave the vintage reflector? Also, which tag do you guys prefer? I’m kinda partial to the crusty one. Whaddya you all think? Thanks fellas!!

Wow, what a great thread. I started reading yesterday and couldn't stop. The workmanship is awesome, this reads like a how to book on how to build a cool hot rod. I can't wait to see it run.
