Bannerman castle in back ground. Crazy Scotsman that got into army surplus weapons and shells. At the close of the civil war he bought so much surplus, Manhattan booted him and he moved here. Mostly designed the fort himself. He kept and traded for very rare things and had quite a military museum here. Then it burned. There are warning signs and unexploded ordnance all over the place. One thing I read on this said if you have a civil war cannon in your town, north or south, more than likely they bought it back from Bannerman. In the day there would be several boats loading in his harbor to bring us/euro surplus weapons to banana republics http://www.headfirstadventures.com/2013/09/06/the-castle-on-bannermans-island/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pollepel_Island
Sure there is plenty of leg room and head room or whatever you want to shove in, now let's try it out!
Think I saw that place on the TV show Mysteries Of The Abandon. Great show that goes around and tells the stories and history of abandon sites around the world.
