Crazy question but with the original battery tray how high does it sit off the frame and do modern batteries fit in there?

It's the straight one.. No round dials.. 41 I believe.. Does that make any sense?.. I've been wondering why it was not the 42 version!!??

Could someone post images of both a business coupe and a standard coupe ? I am having trouble identifying one from the other.

one was a business coupe, Had Doors from a Fordor fronts, room for supplies behind seat.
Other one was defined by Ford as a Sedan Coupe,
longer roof line with a back seat, and doors same as used on tudor sedans.
    go ahead GOOGLE BOTH,
Should be Very EZ to spot differences. Hope this helps.

  23. I'll expand on verde's answer a bit...

They're also referred to as 'short door' (business coupe) and 'long door' (about 4" longer) coupes. No back seat in a short door when new, although you will run into owners who fit one. If the rear seat only looks suitable for midgets or children, it's a short door. Other differences is fixed quarter windows on the short door, 'vent window' style on long doors although I believe they can be swapped. The long door also has more 'crown' in the roofline towards the rear to allow the rear seat passengers to get in without banging their head, along with the longer roofline. The 'catwalk' between the rear window and the trunk lid is about 2" longer on the short door, the rear window is more vertical on the long door. The drip rail position relative to the quarter windows behind the doors is subtly different as Ford went to considerable effort to disguise the crown in the roofline on the long door.

The short door is prized because if you're chopping one, the quarter windows will retain their shape better when chopping. The long door cars are usually chopped more in the rear to eliminate or reduce the 'football helmet' look from the crown but that throws off the quarter window proportions if not addressed, but fixing that requires a bunch more work.

correct - did not offer chopped roof and suicide doors either

  26. This pic shows the long door well. Not the nicest looking of the two IMO. JW
