After seeing the the Corvettes last week , I thought I would throw together a old snap kit that I had of a 63...I also have one of the large kits in progress , its been channeled over the frame slightly and is also getting flared fenders and a large bump on the hood thats actually made using the roof of a 1/25th 57 chev 2dr sedan. Now this snap 63 , Im not sure what happened on this one , I blame it on the 112-114 degree weather that went through my area...heat stroke maybe? Well it turned out to be a very abused Corvette. And the owner of the car...well not sure on that ...by the looks of whats in side the car ...gas can, shovel & ax and apparently they have a bad leg...crutches, and oh ya two rifles...the rag gas cap is nice also. Well actually some of idea come from a visit I had couple years back...I got a call from a person wanting to buy fertilizer...I sell bat guano...high nitrogen content...the person shows up driving a 1980 Corvette with the back window removed, car was filthy dirty and the back end was full of about 2-3ft tall pot plants...I got him two large trash bags of bat crap and he just tossed them into the passagers seat , one split open crap went every place ..he just brushes it off of his seat , pays me and takes off down the road ...you see the crap blowing out the roof, panel top, and back area...funny as hell.
It's tough to say I like the model so let's put my like towards the photos. Clear pics are always good, and welcome. Geez, though. It's even worse than this one...

Oh man, heartbreaker (for me). Get 'em and guard them with your life on the way home. Watch out for smash-and-grab artists at the stop lights. The very first time I got to go crusin' was in a black '59. My older pal just got his license, his grandmother let him use the car that night and we were digging Bruce Chanel singing "Hey Baby" on WLS-AM in Chicago. Someday, after I've left this planet, someone will find a way to harness images from our minds and print photos.

Just to clear up any confusion…2008 correct. Jerry Joaquin correct. However, that is not the first car. The first car was the original that my father drove. What we call “TazII” or the Tribute is the one that Jerry originally built to honor the fallen heroes of 9/11 and in tribute to the Snizek and Dodge Racing Team. The third was built as a clone of the original when it was in 1965 23t body form. That project ended in litigation and the car is not allowed to be branded or promoted with any Pacers material. The Pacers Auto INC. company and the trademark are owned by the Snizek Family.
@rudestude, man, where on earth do these old models come from....? Amazing. Man, I remember when the next door neighbor drove his brand new, ultra long and utterly cool 59 Buick bubbletop home! Then down the street a Pontiac shows up....fantastic and beautiful creations. A year later, dad gets a '60 Olds. Mercy, what times. Do 'em Terry! Great stuff.
Here a PACERS 1:16 build update. I'd like to add, great that real racers have interest in model cars, especially when the origin is such a great car. Sensational actually. Front suspension on the bench. I've never modeled such an intricate and special setup as this before. This will take some time, but meanwhile getting acquainted. Kind of hard to beat a 6cyl. E-Type, my opinion. My sister-in-law had a 4.2 L roadster...my goodness, that was a cool and quick car (this was 1968), wish I had one today. I was a lanky and slender kid, the cockpit was a perfect fit. Never experienced such a quick and precise steering ever again. The ride was not all that hard, but hitting the gears and lots of throttle, the front end would raise quite a bit, a surprise. Also surprising, was the loud whining of the differential and gearbox, really loud....this was not a luxurious cruiser, but a sports car! Also hot as hell on the feet and legs, the car needed AC in the Florida region. The car was and still is a beauty, of all the cars I've ever driven, I'd wish to have this one again. Oh my! A Citroen BX...! Terry, I owned one, a white one with funky checkered stripes along the sides..what a crappy car! lmao! Geez, the hood was fiberglass, light as garbage can lid. The car was super-cheaply-built. Good part was, it was cheap, had a solid and very good motor, and true to Citroen...had a really smooth ride...everything suspension- wise was hydraulic...the French like this stuff. Agreed, this was an inexpensive car in EU, but had good longevity and mechanics were good. I drove it for almost 2 years. Double ugly, but a smooth ride and cheap....still laughing Mike..
Hi Mike, The gasser is a Citroen CX from the 70s, the successor of the famous DS. The BX came out later, 80s I think. But we are moving into HAMB unfriendly waters here.
The E-Type gasser is cool and at least one existed, though it's a Coupe. The best thing are the original wires on the front axle.
Yes! You're right, a CX. The panel behind the rear window tells all. Still, the car was weird. lol. But comfortable and cushy. The time frame fits perfectly. Would you believe a fellow just around the corner has a beautifully restored DS, mint green with silver. Rarely out of the garage though, sometimes parked on the street in front. I'd love to catch a snapshot! Those old Citroëns are iconic, my opinion. True, HAMB unfriendly waters. Good one. Mike..

Well I got my 59 Buick home , didn't get the 60 Buick ...yet...this time. I'm trying to get him to let loose of a 60 Crysler , I need it for its taillight assemblies for my "Taboo" 56 Chevrolet custom build I'm doing. The 59 Buick is kind of interesting, it's builder named it "Tiger", kind of curious why the name Tiger. Because it's got a name I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it...probably just touch up the paint a bit and shine it up and display as is. It came from a group of 30 vintage assembled Johan cars he bought for $15 each. He give me the Buick for $0...couldn't sniveling about that.
Had a surprising find while visiting my friends place. Years back I spent time at his place building models , at one point I had taken a couple of large boxes of models to his place alot of unbuilt and all of my built ones from when I still lived at home , 16 to 18 years of age range, well he had to go spend a few years with "Club Fed" and his parents packed up his house and things where put in storage , including all of my stuff, about maybe 20 years ago, we'll while visiting the other day I told him that I would like to try to get them back ..so we went and looked at how big of a job it's going to be and when we opened the door the first thing I saw was one of my old builds siting on a box...but that was the only one...so far ...the rest are buried in the back of the building ? So that will be another day. This one I did when I was around 17-18 , 1978/79? This is as found.
That is CAE brand front axle. Popular axle for altereds and dragsters in the 1960's. You are doing a fantastic job recreating the Pacer's Tasmanian Devil.
Terry, you're tormenting me with these models (but not the Citroen). I saw the "Tiger" and my head dropped, moving from side to side. Just think, someone painted and built the Olds thinking "Now that's just too kool for school", and actually, it is. Heck, digging the wagon and the Model A.
You know quick....I actually had a tough time posting the find with the Buick , knowing how much you like and want one, I didn't want it to seem like I was teasing with it. But I knew you would rather have a , as I would also , a old AMT kit. I promise I will not do like I did that Corvette to it. I'm not that cruel... It's going to stay "Tiger" with just a few paint repairs. Also them old "flat tops" like that Olds are a favorite of mine also. Here's something that will make you sick...just up the road behind my place about 1/4 mile a guy built a house and drove around 20+ 59/63 Buicks , Olds, Pontiacs, and a couple Chevrolets...all hard tops a few converts and parked them in under the fir trees ..put them up on blocks and covered them with fir bows, so that no one could see them and steal parts ...thats what he told me...and yes I have tried to talk him into selling anything....no good but he did say that he has around 100or so more on his parents property about 80 miles away...this was going on 25+ years ago and they are still there. In his circular drive way in front of his house is a stock nice, was, 62 Impala 4dr ht. He drove it in ...parked it ...and has not moved an inch...except down...from the flat tires and the 4" of moss that's growing on the car and also the drive way around it.
In a way, I'm goofing with you. I'd love to have any of those that you posted but I have to applaud your good fortune. In my case, I no longer know anyone who builds models. I know a few that have a great stockpile but won't get off any of them. My wife knows older folks (older than us) who had kids. Maybe those kids built models but she wouldn't ask those folks about model cars to save my soul. "I'm not going to bother people with that!" As far as the real things go, I had my eye on a '55 Nomad back in '69. I'd seen it sitting in the same spot for a few years previously. Upon selling my beloved '66 Nova that my parents so fortunately let me get (300 hp for a 17 year old) I approached the owner of the Nomad. He was friendly but firm, it wasn't for sale, he was going to start on it. It took a few more years but it finally rusted into oblivion in that same spot where people could watch it daily. As Art Linkletter used to say, "People Are Funny".
Seeing RudeStude's A bomb inspired me to post one I'm still working on. I started it in the mid 1990's as a typical 90's style street rod, but I got bored with it, and backdated it to around 1962. Paint is (oh the irony) Testors Color by Boyd (Coddington) Dusty Rose Pearl. Engine is from the Revell Tweedy Pie kit.
