I have to say I liked the car when it was white and orange, but you really nailed it with that color. Out of curiosity did you keep the motorized hood and trunk?
    Any pics of the upholstery?

It was built in Canada, they are trying to find out what happen to it....

  12. Change the stock grill, rolled pans, a major altitude adjustment and that would be a beauty!

  13. I second @Crazy Steve. I am really digging the section and perfectly proportioned chop on that. Get it down to where it belongs and that thing will be killer!

1937 FoMoCo Freighter - the much-admired cover car of Rod & Custom Magazine's August, 1962 issue
Ray Nish, service manager for an Oakland, Calif. Lincoln-Mercury dealer, transformed a 1937 Ford sedan into the FoMoCo Freighter over a period of 13 years, exclusively using FoMoCo parts (hence the truck's moniker).
The FoMoCo Freighter rests on a narrowed and shortened 1956 Mercury frame and suspension.
It is powered by a monstrous, fully chromed and antiseptically clean 1957 Lincoln 368 cubic inch Turnpike Cruiser V-8 engine, backed by a 1957 Ford Thunderbird C-6 Cruise-O-Matic transmission and a 1957 Lincoln Powr-Lok rear end with 3.31 gears.
Firewall and radiator cover were hand-formed from sheet steel, then triple chrome plated.
The pickup was equipped with 1961 Mercury power steering and power brakes, power windows, power vents (!), and a power antenna. Cad gold.jpg

Mine has more body mods (below) than the photo loudbang put up above...and it looks like a '49. The Cad above appears quite stock other than the paint and skirts...my '48 has quite a ways to go before it gets paint...
