    Hello motor guys,

I have a 34 Ford flathead v8 for about 50 years. When I was a kid I took it apart with plans to rebuild it. Well 50 years later it is still packed away. Looking for a good home would it be better to rebuild it or disassembled? I have the starter, generator & other misc stuff also. They all came from a big truck. I in the process of rebuilding my '53 Merc flathead with modern fuel injection. What do you think?

Thank you for your time & thoughts.

Would only be of interest to someone who wants a restored car. Limited buyers.

I would prefer a disassembled engine so I could check the condition of all parts I cared about. If you rebuild it properly you will never get all the money out of it that it cost for the machine work and parts. Let the buyer pay for that stuff.

Flathead Dave, warhorseracing and X38 like this.
  4. Better left disassembled crank and Babbitt bearings will need to be measured
    I’m using a ‘34 in my 28’ Av8 speedster

I’d just sort of stick it together so it’s obviously complete and sell it that way. You can show the potential buyer whatever he wants to see with little effort.
